Hi there,

I am in a spiritual struggle and it has dawned on me, that my attitude to sin is the same as my attitude to iniquity - I think of sin as "wrong", but no more wrong than "iniquity". This cannot be the case. I am throwing myself on your mercy, because I want to be an example of someone, who was raised up by faith; who, when presented with the anomaly of their own unbelief, sought the help of the faith, to overcome. The faith has a place in this world, to rule over the lives of the dwellers therein and it would be remiss to suggest that all they ask, is for people to live humbly before their God. The faith requires us to repent!

I guess what I am saying is "I don't know how bad the problem is, then (concerning sin and iniquity)" all I know is that it ultimately takes "one sacrifice" not a new one, but more of the old. I'm not old enough to know the difference, if it takes thousands of years, but if "Today is the Day of your Salvation" then there is time for me to repent "now"! So I am sorry; I am sorry if I have mislead you, if I have lead you to believe that you sin is a simple thing and your iniquity is a forgettable thing. I am sorry if you now have no fear of the Judgment to come. I am sorry if you thought that if things changed I would come back for you - I want to save as many as I can, but that can't be by my holding their hand, as though the power to repent is above them.

The ten commandments stand; don't make an image of God, in your personal response to the life He crucified for your sin; don't rest on your iniquity as if the Holy Spirit is going to just whisk it away. I want to say more, but I feel like I should first get right with God. I don't know why He doesn't just destroy sin, or eradicate iniquity - but I trust His Judgment. We all must trust His Judgment.

I hope this has been adequate confession, that one even so great as I, am still bound to deal with hypocrisy as God deals with hypocrisy.

God bless.

For new Christians, for the unsaved and for old mature Christians the same verses apply

1John1:9 if we confess our sins, God is faithful and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all inquity.

Don't tell us your a sinner, we know we are all sinners, go to God through Jesus and tell him, asking yet again for forgiveness and purification.

Hi there,

I am in a spiritual struggle and it has dawned on me, that my attitude to sin is the same as my attitude to iniquity -

I would suggest you consider a different point of view…

* Faith…is about establishing a one on one “permanent” RELATIONSHIP with the Lord God.
* Precepts…are about establishing one on one RELATIONSHIPS with other humans …
* IN THAT…your RELATIONSHIP WITH the Lord God reflects upon other humans.

One on One RELATIONSHIPS with other humans… CAN BE, the same as IS Gods Relationship with ALL humans…

God Loves ALL humans…”YET” can also “HATE” some of the same humans.

And like so many “WORDS”…the word “HATE” has become “redefined” by men.
Hate is NOT the opposite of Love.
Hate is a Strong Dislike.
The Strong Dislike is not about the BEING of a Human, rather Hate is About the Precepts of a Human.
* Precepts are BEHAVIORS of humans.

IOW,
Love IS about the humans wholeness…body, soul, spirit.
Hate (strong dislike) IS about the humans Behaviors.
Iniquity IS is about IMMORAL precepts (behaviors).

Humans that desire to BE “like” the Lord God… freely ACCEPT His Offering, of His Will, His Power to dwell IN a man, THAT by, through, of Gods Power of His Gift of Faith…
that Individual human…CAN also LOVE ALL other humans….YET hate (strongly Dislike) particular behaviors of the Other…PARTICULARLY….INIQUITY…ie IMMORAL Behaviors.

(Some people have reduced that concept to a common saying….”Love the sinner, hate the sin”.)

Scripturally, that is true, yet Scripturally it goes beyond Loving the sinner, hating the sin….TO; being an example as was Jesus…

Disagreeing with immoral precepts (behaviors), yet continuing to Love the other individual.
Doing good toward the other…giving God the credit (glory).

Hope this helps.

God Bless you.

Glory to God,
Taken

Dear brother @Gottservant. I find myself also needing to reassess my walk when things get tough or when I discern that there is something acutely wrong with what I am doing in my walk with God or when God's presence seems so far away. You cannot give out of to others when you hardly got enough within. The water of life should be constantly flowing through you from the throne of God. So I have chosen to take a path of personal revival or the sanctification process and it does not matter whether your a new believer or someone like me whose been a believer for decades. If this applies to you, I have a blog post that you may be interested in. I am going through this right now and am writing it as I go along. It really has helped me to get me back on the path which I have somehow wandered from and has reinstalled my personal, one on one relationship with God. :gd
