It isn't a moral issue. Not is it doctrinal. It's about keeping a clear separation between ourselves and the world.More of a matter-of-fact thing; most of the male youngsters at our local church would happen to wear earrings.
Some threads are much less doctrinal than others....participation is voluntary...
I agree; not a question phrased in the best way...@farouk, I am not really like that. LOL I give no heed to another man with earrings or without. Liking males with earrings can get me into a lot of trouble. Know what i mean?
@LambanoShe'd never worn anything but clip-on earrings, so my wife took her to the mall to get her ears pierced for the first time when she was in her early eighties.
I was blessed to have had a mother-in-law who was an absolute delight.
Grandma's all right with it. Grandpa is kinda old school, but to him it's analogous to how boys having long hair was contentious back when he was growing up, so Grandpa just shrugs it off. However, Grandson's daddy was Navy, and he's not too thrilled about it.@Lambano
Seems like your MIL adapted well. I think now also that grammas have also often gotten accustomed to the idea of their grandsons getting their ears pierced, right?
I would have voted I'm not bothered either way but it wasn't an option.@Pearl PS: This is more of a trivia thread/poll, I guess; I can't remember if you voted or not, but the poll is set to expire soon. FYI....
@Pearl Thanks for the comment; and because of what you said, I've just added another poll response option: "Not worried either way..." :)I would have voted I'm not bothered either way but it wasn't an option.
Okay I'll vote.@Pearl Thanks for the comment; and because of what you said, I've just added another poll response option: "Not worried either way..." :)
@Lambano Sounds about right, in her case, as you described. (So was she interested that her son chose the same place to have his ear done, as where she had had hers done?)Grandma's all right with it. Grandpa is kinda old school, but to him it's analogous to how boys having long hair was contentious back when he was growing up, so Grandpa just shrugs it off. However, Grandson's daddy was Navy, and he's not too thrilled about it.
However, "I quite like males with earrings" is a little, uh, provocative?
@Pearl Thanks for your vote participation! Quite a trivia thread, really... But anyway these days it's grandsons as well as granddaughters who appreciate earring gifts, it would sometime seem.Okay I'll vote.
@Lambano I hasten to add that if I had put in the title 'content with' - as in the poll - rather than what I put, it would have been more accurate and suitable, (but I can't change the title now...)However, "I quite like males with earrings" is a little, uh, provocative?
This forum needs a bit of trivia sometimes to make a nice change from some of the heavy stuff.@Pearl Thanks for your vote participation! Quite a trivia thread, really... But anyway these days it's grandsons as well as granddaughters who appreciate earring gifts, it would sometime seem.
I agree 100% !This forum needs a bit of trivia sometimes to make a nice change from some of the heavy stuff.
