Kathy Hochul that she misled parents about the magnitude of hospitalizations for COVID-19 among children, explaining she raised fears of a concerning trend to “motivate” them to get their children vaccinated.

Dr. Mary Bassett acknowledged Monday that the number of children hospitalized at the time due to the coronavirus was low, about 50, and remained low.

with the news from China collapsing and hoarding over half the world's grains supply, be prepared for the following:

1. More shortages at the grocery store
2. Higher inflation
3. More unemployment
4. More shortages for all other goods.

I do some prepping for my family. We focus on short- to mid-term things like fires and hurricanes and civil unrest and pandemics and whatnot. So we have bug-out bags, get-home bags in our cars, and maybe 3-6 months of food storage. We also live a semi-reclusive lifestyle away from most people, so we basically already live in our bug-out location and commute into civilization when needed. We had zero difficulty surviving the last two years of rioting and lockdowns and uptick in violent crime and homicides and whatnot. (It's easy to survive, but the lack of normal living I think may be stressful to most folks.)

We also have an assortment of ways to live should a disruption in employment come. Wife has a small business, I have more than a few ways to earn a living, we raise chickens/turkeys/geese (although this one is hardly as cheap or sustainable as we'd like). A tiny bit of financial reserves. Dabbling in cryptocurrency in case of banking failure.

Humans on the macro level, especially in mostly-free 1st world nations, are big on preparing for and solving problems we can predict. This is why Y2K was such a nothingburger - we all saw it coming and invested millions of man-hours to upgrade systems in time. It's why Colorado will be able to absorb it's recent 1000-home loss due to fires, two days before 4 inches of snow fell. Empires (and hegemonies like the U.S.) are good at taking a few centuries to decline before the barbarians burn Rome while the Romans laugh. I have a positive outlook for my children. And of course, if Christ wishes to return soon and usher in the end of days, I'm ok with that as well. But I'm not planning on it.

GOD instructs us to KNOW when it's going to happen BEFORE it happens so that we don't suffer loss.

i think what you should do is find a farm land and buy it for it to provide you with enough food for you and your family it is a stable solution plants can't provide you enough but livestock can rabbits are easy to breed and taste like chicken

As best you can. right now, I am shooting to do what Mormons do- 2 years! Well the first crisis will be price spikes. If one has a stockpile of non perishables, and vac sealed frozen meats, then they can purchase when things go on sale. that is what I do now! Just got a chance to buy Progresso soups for 99cents a can. normally $2.99 was able to get 8 so I did. then the shortages will take hold as teh coming recession turns to a depression. It should allow people even with massive price hikes to keep a trickle coming in and allow them to live on a subsistence diet for several years. After that? Who knows. but if it gets that bad- many will die. The UN is predicting over250,000,000 this year will suffer famine

So where is the EVIDENCE here? All you did was post a guy making claims without substantiating them with any data.

I do not care. I am commanded to care for my first above all others. but I have been stocking for close to 2 years now. Teh closer we get when it all hits the fan, the less there will be on the shelf to panic buy anyway. People should start buying extra now! Not massive quantities, but buy 5 cans of peas. This week a local grocer is having a sale on Francesco Rinaldi sauce for 59 cents a jar! While I have 30 quarts frozen I made from my garden last fall, and already 14 jars, I am buying 6 more!

Well most people just can't go and do that. But I live in a very small town well outside the cities. I am thinking of maybe a dozen chickens. I only have .4 acresa but get a great garden out of it. My brother and sister -in-law also run a 125 head dairy farm, so we also are blessed with that in a pinch.

Not sure if you know these but easy ideas for whoever doesn't know-

Kitchen scraps from onions, carrots, celery aren't garbage, they're put away and used for making broth

Those cheap brown lentils are versatile for soups, easy crunchy snacks, sprouting for salads

Sourdough starters are good

Any small indoor grow system is a good idea

Nobody ever buys the sardines and they are cheap and useful

Fermented things like kimchi will stay good in the back of the fridge for a year

Eggs in lime water can last up to two years

Knowing how to make your own condiments and vinegars can open a lot of opportunities

Townsend is a good resource for learning historical preservation methods


The more you know how to rotate and.work with those things the less boring those repeated things become, and they will get boring.

I had some of those, but alas, they wouldn't take them the day I got brave enough to try and redeem some. They were looking at them sort of baffled, like they were Confederate currency from the late 1800s or something. I was hoping maybe they might have developed compound interest annually over the last several decades, and now I owned half the company, but woe is me; I didn't even get a free fries out of the deal.

With the chip shortage showing no signs of alleviating in 2022, smaller crops globally, the legions of natural disaster globally, this year will be even worse last year.

Governments once again are overreacting to the new omicron strain, locking down businesses. More and more businesses will close and in America businesses will close because millions are not going back to work.

Let us also not forget the record debt levels of governments, businesses and people. Now is the time to be a good prepper while you can still find the goods you use or can afford them. I live in the northeast and have seen food prices jump an average of 20% this year alone. Canned goods seem stable , but dairy, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, oils, deli anmd frozen have all gone through the roof.

My prepping tends to take the form of just getting closer to my God, so that no matter what happens He will be providing for me, even if it has to be supernaturally. But I do think tougher times are coming. Thanks for the heads up on China. I rarely watch the news.

they were killing each other just to survive why would you want that well movie is not reality but those things are not far from reality if it happened

so if you really want to survive you should consider protection
you might have a lot of supplies but if someone discovered that it's the end along the way trying to survive i don't think you can follow God's commandments

what if someone tries to take away your food you have a gun even if you let them just take it what happens next there's just a lot of possibilities i can think of

so it's like throwing away christianity just to stay alive and then what that's why it's better to die and let them have it all than to struggle to survive with them who are also desperate to survive

but maybe not saying anything is better isn't it? it's more peaceful no one to argue with no one will hate you too much no one will dislike me if i just shut up...

Well, there's an old joke. Man sitting on his porch. sheriff goes by tells him to leave, a flood is coming. Man says He is trusting in God. Flood comes. He is on the second floor. boat comes by and tries to pick him up. Man refuses says he is trusting God. Finally he is on his roof and a helicopter goes by tries to pick him up. Well God used Joseph to prepare Egypt for seven years of famine. He also used Paul to take up collections for the starving in Jerusalem. to not do anything to protect yourself and family is a form of suicide. If you can't do anything that is one thing, but if you can do something and don't, it is sin.
