I do not need to do anything you say. I could cite scripture, but it would be useless. So I refuse your demands. Truth is, and I can say something true without quoting the bible. If you want to know where my references are, look it up yourself. I am not going to read the bible for you, do it yourself. My assertions are scripture-less, true, but they are still biblical. When Paul spoke to the Athenians, he did not quote scripture. They didn't know scripture, and it would be useless.

Love your neighbor, and when your neighbor is poor, do not burden him with laborious taxation. Instead, take it upon yourself to pay what the poor man cannot.

Your assertions assume you have a correct biblical understanding. it is unreasonable to expect others to guess your understanding if it is errant.

Quoting scripture should be unnecessary. They should know their bibles well enough or understand Christianity well enough to know it doesn't contradict. I'm not here to teach fundamentals. Those need to be done by your own personal church leaders.

The reason it would be useless to post scripture is that it would be dismissed by many here. I have become gravely disappointed in those that have posted on this thread, and am too pessimistic to even try.

"Take it upon yourself" can mean voluntary charity. However, if you vote to raise taxes, you do pay taxes voluntarily. If these taxes are used charitably, then you have voluntarily given to charity. Many people instead want to hold on to their money. A government has the authority to force their hand. It is no longer voluntary charity at this point, but it is compulsory. Some compulsory things are good. This would be good.

"Woe to you" and "stop sinning". It seems this discussion has gotten away from you...or you're playing the treed cougar.

And your promotion of the demonic Left leaves you no room to criticize others for calling evil good and good evil, for you promote a system that does exactly that.

And what's the "justice" you associate with progressive taxes when now millions of Americans give up more than half their earnings to government? When Jesus said "a laborer is worthy of his wages" did you see an asterisk the rest of us didn't see? Maybe he meant 40%, right?

The entire Left's ideology has it's foundation on the sin of covetousness, which is why it's utterly detestable to God and the righteousness of God. That you're willing to twist scriptures to justify wickedness shows the contempt for scripture I alluded to earlier and no, I'm not "sinning" by pointing that out. You on the demonic Left are so focused on what others earn and possess and how it's "unfair" that some have more than others that you're blind to your overt violation of the 10th commandment by which all of liberalism is condemned.

We don't PAY taxes. Taxes are taken from us by the threat of the law (jail). Besides that, the poor in America get more tax money back (payroll tax refunds) then they pay in AND they get welfare which is paid for with tax dollars. Paying taxes doesn't make me a Christian and prove that I love my neighbor. Paying taxes prove I am a law abiding citizen.

You don't support the welfare state? Isn't the progressive tax system that you support welfare? The poor pay less tax in payroll taxes or get refunds that exceed what they paid into the system. The definition of welfare: aid in the form of money or necessities for those in need. An agency or program through which such aid is distributed.

The IRS is an agency of the government and it distributes money to the poor. Since you don't support the welfare state does that mean you don't support the food stamp program?



Minimum wage should be left as is. Just don't move it.

So 20 years from now the minimum wage should still be $7.25 an hour? Based on your logic you would have no problem if we left it "as is" when it was $5.15 an hour back in 1997 or thirty cents an hour back in 1939? Are you really a progressive? As you (should) know, most employee's are already paid higher than the minimum wage.

Socialism is what is killing Europe. That is why they are trying to rein it in. They are taking from the capitalist (money producers) to support the socialist. That is why "Europe hasn't died yet" because the capitalist are keeping it alive.

Finally, I don't think the government would take the extra taxes and reduce the debt.

Then why do you want to give them more? It's like giving drugs to an addict. Why haven't you given the government more? I articulated in an earlier post that there is a IRS form you can fill out to gift money to the government. If you truly believe what you say then back it up with action. I don't think you truly believe what you are saying. I think you are just stirring the pot!! :)

To prevent that I think we should model our current american church and create our own christianity boards. That way we'll know who agrees with us and we can focus on creating problem of division rather than the solution.

2. Is it edifying? Will at least one person benefit from your post?
3. Is it super succinct? I prefer not to give long winded responses to minimize the risk of speaking falsely or in a manner that isn't edifying.
4. Allow others to speak first, because someone else will usually say what needs said.
