As people leave churches, churches pander harder, causing more people to leave. People grow to expect this pandering to be how a church should be. But, it absolutely isn't what churches should be. Here's the thing for me, are Christians really so stupid that they think churches should pander and that they think this helps, rather than hurts, as they watch churches shrink? I've come to answer this question yes. And, that makes Christianity look like a superstition of stupid people. Intellectually, I can think differently, but emotionally I can't.Sadly this is true . the problem is the evangelical realm has long been infiltrated by the wrong men .
The church was to shine the light , not compromise the light to fit society .
THEY did this for survival . They turned the church into a money making machine .
ANd in order to keep the money coming in , to increase , well they had to pander to society .
No, they don't have to pander to society. "Seeker friendly" churches a few decades focused on pandering. Their growth caused others to follow. They poisened churches for short-term gain. These days, if you don't pander, you get quickly judged by Evangelicals themselves.
A century ago, over 90% of Americans identified as Christian. And, most of them went to churches that were on average far more biblical than any church Evangelicals attend today!
