I had a good and productive day. I worked on some projects (I know it's Sunday), watched some church related stuff and now am taking a break. Got a lot done.

My paint program is getting neat. I can zoom and paint images now.

Two weeks ago while I was bringing my dad to visit with me, the front passenger tire locked up or something and all I smelled was burning rubber.
We creaped along until we got home.
I called VIP (Auto shop) when they could see the car. They said 7/24 9am. Oh, your open Sunday, cool. Because tomorrow I have to be at another garage to check my radiator. And I was afraid I wouldn't be able to drive there.

So Friday I called the tow-truck company to ask if they were working sunday, and would they be able to get me to the garage by 9am.
Sure, I have AAA, I just need to notify triple A, by 7am and they will call the tow company and send them along.

7am this morning I called the tow company giving them a heads up, I'm about to call AAA, we still good to get me to the garage by 9?
Sure thing.
I call AAA, they Call the tow company. I go outside and position the car so they can just drive it up on the flatbed.
Hey, there goes the tow driver, he went right by.
I figured he missed it on the GPS, he'll turn around and be right back.
20 minutes later. I'm still standing at the end of my driveway. Here he comes!
And there he goes right on by. I'm waving my arms in the air, trying to get his attention as he's barreling down the highway 60 miles an hour.
I know he'll be back and see me this time.
Another 20 minutes goes by. I decide to head towards the house and call the company. Just as I'm turning, Here He Comes Again!!
I'm practically standing in the middle of raod flagging this guy down, and there he goes... I did see him test his breaks though.
But he never came back.
I got in the house (I don't have a cell phone, just a landline) and it's 9:30.
I called VIP, appologized I missed my appointment, when is the next available time?
If you can get that tow truck, we can leave an opening at 3pm.
AWESOME!
I called the tow company and with as much patience and calmness I could muster. I explained to them, I called you friday, I called you this morning, we were good to go, but for some reason your driver didn't want to stop.
Now we need to try this again. I'm getting off the phone, I'm standing on the edge of my driveway, and when I see your tow truck, Ima throw myself infront of it and make them stop.
Thankfully I didn't have to that.
Got the car to the garage, they put it on the lift, couldn't find anything wrong. They took it for a ride, did donuts in a parking lot and said, there's nothing here. Maybe a stone or something got lodged and it was rubbing against the break, but it's gone now.
What a relief.. How much?
Nothing, your all set.

The rest of the day was great. Little warm. Spent some time outside with the cats getting some sun.
Now I'm exhausted and hopefully get a good night's sleep for tomorrows adventure.
I have a feeling the radiator isn't going to turn out to be nothing.
But at least I can drive myself there.
:D
Hugs

Today was a good day.
I got my radiator flushed with no issues.
I took my dad his mail and his eyeglasses he had left in the car, and they had lunch waiting for me when I got there.
Chicken nuggets and onion rings.. yum.
Not unthankful, just my dad should be avoiding "fried foods" due to his gout and other health issues, but he'll eat whatever she puts in front of him.
He doesn't have much choice. And I try to be real careful with greasy foods because I have a fatty liver. But it was well meant and I thanked her for thinking of me. (in my grave no doubt) Anywhooooo....
It rained today and helped cool things down a bit. It's been at least a week since we've had rain. Plenty of humidity though.
Scheduled another apointment in September for an oil change and a pre-inspection inspection.
My registration comes due in December/January and if there are any issues, this will give me some space to make sure things will pass.
It's gotten muggy again this evening, but not as much as it has been.
Tomorrow I'm heading to the pet store for flea medication. I don't know who their biting more, me or the cats.
Enough is Enough! lol
Even though the days are beginning to get shorter, they sure feel like they're hanging on longer.
hugs

I noticed that they moved the fellowship forum to general discussions. Interesting.

Not moved, just renamed. Too many folks were creating threads in the General Discussion forum at the bottom of the page which was created for non-christians, athiests, agnostics and other faiths to create threads only. We had to make a distinction....so we did Like PS do you like the new smilies, emojis?

I try to walk early in the morning at 6am. Sometimes its hot even then.
Whatever you do my dear sister , dont walk the pavement on a west texas summer day . If you do so barefoot , prepare to lose a pound of flesh .
Cause we dont call this place the oven in vain my dear sister . But i do have good news .
Every time this ol sun just bakes us i always remember one thing . THANK GOD FOR CHRIST JESUS
cause if it were not for HIM i would have ended up in a place far hotter than ol west texas .
YEAH , I SAY PRAISE THE GLORIOUS LORD dear sister . The reasons to thank and praise the LORD
are without number and i cannot find one reason NO TOO . Now lift those hands up and praise and thank the LORD .
