Dear fellow members and children of God under our Lord Jesus the Christ and his Father together with their Holy Spirit:
I decided to look at the direction given in the OP of this thread to check for false or true doctrine and make an assessment.
The new testament uses the word “try” the spirits, I noticed you used the word “test” which makes me suspicious. And that is because I have seen mockers on these forums harassing people in that manner. The old and new testament already gave direction for Prophets and that was not a spirit as mentioned in the new testament for the word “try”.
Deuteronomy 18:22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
So what a person is susposed to understand when they read that section is that to “wait” to see if a prophecy comes true from a “prophet”, if you attempt to harass a prophet that might anger God which is not wise. God is slow to anger, but I would not rest on that idea either.
About Satan and his dark ravens which are the spirits mentioned in the new testament scripture you presented with limited quoting which is insufficient for the proper direction. I will add the rest of the section for my assessment:
1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
In the above scripture we are given to know that a false spirit back when that scripture was recorded was attempting to deny the Lord Jesus the Christ as the messiah in the flesh and savior of the world. And that was also an agenda of some of the Jews and perhaps also the Roman’s that were killing the followers of Christ. The attempt to deny Jesus as the son of God and savior (messiah) was conducted thru propaganda to gain enemies of the Jew populations against the followers of Christ and perhaps other persons than Jews.
Furthermore I am concerned about the direction and dangers of the type of teaching the OP is providing hear for some of the more vulnerable members. They stated something that appears to blurr the line between true prophet and false prophet:
“Those with these false spirits can quote scripture or have demons help them and have some of their 'divinations' come true, but they can still be false and lead God's people astray. John says that we must test the spirits to see whether they are from God and this means that we must test what the spirits are saying, or doing, or telling us to say. So lets see the tests..”
The dark works I have seen on forums like this are as follows. Some false teacher will state that the devil or his followers can make predictions that come true, and that does not follow the Deuteronomy scripture I quoted above (Deuteronomy 18:22). God is a God of truth, Satan and his dark ravens are deceivers and murders, which often deceive in an attempt to murder and then attempt to hide their evil works.
Those false teachers also visit forums like this one and tell people that the anti-christ or some evil force can heal people. Which is also blurring the lines between God and the devil. The unforgivable sin is exactly that. And it is a gross blasphemy offense.
The proper scripture that deals with that involves the very harassement that was directed at Jesus the Christ when he lived on this earth.
Matthew 12:24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”
25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

There are also many false teachers that come onto these forums and tell people, promoting doubt in God's love and power to heal his children, that God does not perform miracles anymore and does not heal anyone. There are many of us on this forum that have provided witness testimony of actual healings God has made for his children showing them love and care, and for some unknown reason they continue to push their agenda and also promote doubt of God.
I will add a proper direction which is a thread I made of direction and learning I received from God regarding “trying” the spirits, which again is different then “waiting” to see if a prophecy comes true.
