From my X / Twitter ”For you” feed this morning:

“Roman Catholic priest giving a tutorial on how to make Holy Water”

Wanting to learn more about it, I went to another source:

Do you, the reader, make and / or use holy water?

Does that persuade you? If not, why not?

Because people are ignorant about God and his reasons are often mysterious. It could just as easily been the devotion and situation of the owner.

Or maybe they kept a palm leaf from palm Sunday for protection against fires according to the superstition.

But it would be cool if it is true.

Funny, but I do not recall “holy water” being used in this manner by the first Christians…..
It seems to fit the Catholic faith perfectly though….for obvious reasons I think….

I remember when I first saw this, thinking how the devil operates, and imagining the angels hovering over this man’s house, because he had doused it in “holy water”, when no others were deemed worthy of saving…..what did this Catholic man have that all the other good Catholics in his neighborhood, didn’t?

What is the message? For all future fires make sure your priest blesses the water that comes out of the fireman’s hose. Why don’t priests bless the whole water supply then a simple dousing of everyone’s home will make them impervious to fire….what about tornadoes and earthquakes, I wonder…?

How easily the devil can manipulate people’s thinking….when they have no knowledge of Scripture…..only the words of men following old pagan traditions.….and teaching lies to gullible people.

I wonder what will become of this man’s house when the wreckage of the whole neighborhood is cleared away and repurposed….as I am sure all these neighborhoods will be….it will be interesting to find out if it will be left standing amid new construction…..and what that new construction will look like….?

Is this a rejoicing amid all the loss and tragedy? How do fellow Catholics feel about it? I would personally be devastated to learn that I wasn’t told how to save my home…..
