This one does not believe that the "imputed righteousness of Christ".. exists as a "Christian".
He reads. that a Christian has become... "The Righteousness of God in Christ".. and then comes to the Forum and denies it.
Most Forums (MODS) will "eject" this type of CROSS denying theology ASAP.....but not this Forum, which is why He lives here.
He is in denial of all this-"unreachable" to believers. In full agreement with the bolded text.
Romans 3:21-22
"But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference."
Explanation: The righteousness of God is revealed and made available to all who believe in Jesus Christ, showing the imputation of righteousness to believers.
2. Romans 3:24-25
"Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed."
Explanation: Justification is granted freely by God’s grace through the redemption in Christ. This act of justification involves the imputation of God’s righteousness, demonstrated through Christ’s sacrifice.
3. Romans 4:3
"For what does the Scripture say? 'Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.'"
Explanation: Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness, illustrating the principle of imputation-righteousness is accounted to believers based on faith.
4. Romans 4:5
"But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted as righteousness."
Explanation: This verse emphasizes that righteousness is imputed to the one who has faith in God, despite not working to earn it. The faith of the believer is counted as righteousness.
5. Romans 4:6-8
"Just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: 'Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.'"
Explanation: David speaks of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works, reinforcing the idea of imputation. The forgiveness of sins is tied to the imputation of righteousness.
6. Romans 5:17
"For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ."
Explanation: The gift of righteousness is bestowed upon believers, emphasizing the imputation of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ.
7. 2 Corinthians 5:21
"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
Explanation: Christ, who was sinless, was made to bear sin for believers, so that they might become the righteousness of God in Him. This is a clear reference to the imputation of righteousness.
8. Philippians 3:8-9
"Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith."
Explanation: Paul contrasts his own righteousness, which comes from the law, with the righteousness that comes from God through faith in Christ. The righteousness from God is imputed to the believer.
9. Galatians 2:16
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified."
Explanation: Justification, and by extension the imputation of righteousness, comes through faith in Christ, not through adherence to the law.
10. Galatians 3:6-9
"Just as Abraham 'believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.' Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, 'In you all the nations shall be blessed.' So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham."
Explanation: Again, the imputation of righteousness is tied to faith, as Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness. This extends to all who are of faith, including the Gentiles.
11. Ephesians 2:8-9
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
Explanation: Salvation, including the imputation of righteousness, is a gift of God, received by faith, not by works.
12. Titus 3:5-7
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
Explanation: Believers are justified by God’s grace, which is a work of imputation, making them heirs of eternal life.
Which makes it very problematic.
