well, some friends in vietnam approach me to tell me about a story, although interesting yet not totally logical, hence wanting to research more before attempting the acceptance to my friend's 'heavenly' message.

searched a few similar forums and decided to stay here for the openness interface of this forum.

Hi PanInVietnam, a warm welcome to you. Hope you will enjoy being here.

Are your friends Christians? Was the story about the death and resurrection from the dead by Jesus Christ? That Christ died for our sins so we can be forgiven and have everlasting life?

Jesus died for our sins, rose from the dead and He said He will come again (the Second Coming). Then Jesus will judge the world.

There are many Korean Christians. However, if your friend is saying that Jesus is Korean...that is wrong...Jesus on the Earth was Jewish.

Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies about the coming Messiah.

Try reading the Gospel of John in the New Testament. It has many words of Jesus Christ. The other Gospels are Matthew, Mark and Luke and tell many deeds of Jesus Christ.

Biblehub is a good site if you do not have a New Testament.
Maybe @Angelina can recommend a site, too.

FYI, VN's official stand on religious is 'No religion' and although vietnamese people can 'freely' choose their own religious path as long as deem peaceful in nature and within the boundary drawn. from Catholics, Christianity, Buddhism, Traditional/cultural practices and some other smaller minority. Many people to avoid affecting their lives, they often says they have no affiliation when asked.

If you're visiting vietnam (esp Hanoi - the Capital), please hit me up for a coffee, dont worry, is on me. :)

Curious to find out why the name of Jesus is not found in the Old Testament, not a single verse from OT?

Jesus fulfilled the OT prophecies about the Messiah who would come in the future.

The verses talk about the promised Messiah.... Jesus Christ fulfilled about 300 Messianic prophecies in the OT per Bible Scholars.

Yes, stay here. You'll find pasture here like you find freedom to do and say most things. The staff and admins here aren't too strict, unlike Christianforums.com, where just one wrong word will get you banned without warning, and they won't even send you a message, just a notification that you can't even read because you're banned. And look at their website, it's full of posters urging people to donate, become VIP, and receive special treatment. Do you really think they are truly servants of God instead of money?

hello all, has been busy since and unfortunately it takes long time then usual to read, understand, and research off-path. 2 sundays ago i met my this cult vietnamese friend. just a regular meet up for coffee.

after some greetings and we went into talking about the 3rd coming (?), i showed him the passage from Matthew (from my other non cult friend) saying that 'this generation' and from luke (i think) 'those standing here' verses.

from his explanation saying illogical things like 'generation' means 'mankind's generation and not that generation. and refused to acknowledge something is wrong about this beliefs... cult members are brainwashed so badly?

i heard from common friend that he had sold his property and donated certain percentage to that cult church... really scary, losing the ability to think logically...
