to understand the "us" and the "our" we need to go back to the beginning. Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Now, listen carefully as to how the US and the OUR turn to "HIS" and to "HE".
Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
did you notice how the "us" and the "our" in verse 26 which are plural desiginations, turned to "his" and "he" in verse 27 which are single Desiginations. please re-read those two verses again.
now, why did God say "US" and "OUR" in verse 26, but "HIm" and "He" in verse 27. answer, one word ...... "Another". what do we mean? Adam the man was one person, who was made into two persons. for the definition of Adam/man is "ANOTHER" of oneself.

that term "figure" here is IMAGE. what was to come was God in flesh. but God is one Person. so how did God come in flesh and still be in Spirit form? answer, he "shared" himself in flesh, the same Spirit, by sharing he is not distinct, nor separate :). well how was this done .... answer, by "differentiation". let's make it plain to understand .... "sharing". God the Holy Spirit shared himself in flesh. or he is the "ANOTHER" or the IMAGE of himself in flesh. well is he like Adam and Eve seperate and distinct ... No 101, we will not at all argue, lol. The way I see it is that, our Counselor IS The Holy Spirit? Either way it should not matter to any who believe in the Trinity and that Jesus IS God ♥

It is referring to the three persons of the Godhead, the three in one. Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Counsellor)

John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever". here "comforter" is the (Counsellor), correct. another comforter ... when was there a Counsellor/comforter before? scripture. Luke 2:25 "And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name [was] Simeon; and the same man [was] just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him".

let us make it very, very, simple. God who is "a" Spirit, the Holy Spirit is only one person who holds two titles. Father without flesh & blood, and Son with flesh & blood. but now glorified, wirh flesh but no blood.

no, I believe what the Lord Jesus taugh. I believe what is taught in the bible. the same as to what the apostle and the church disciples believed. "Diversified Oneness". and this is no new doctrine, it's in the bible.

That is certainly not what the Bible, nor Christ, nor the apostles taught. You have manufactured your own doctrine, and refuse to give it up, even after many Scriptures have been presented.
Thank you! I'm in my second reading of this and stopped to get a thought down that popped up in the first reading but then I forgot, but then it popped up in the second reading too! The "US" is...oh geez, I can't explain it...never mind...but wow!
I enjoyed reading that. It never really bothered me that I saw that God was the Holy Spirit and that I got yelled at a lot when I said the Holy Spirit was not one Spirit and God another Spirit, but God just WAS the Holy Spirit, but I learned to just leave it alone for the most part. As I said, the only thing I will vociferously oppose is when someone like APAK says that Jesus is not God.
Okay, I read that article, and while there is some that I can agree with, I would like you to take this into account.
Correctly understood, the trinity doctrine teaches that it was not the pre-existent divine Son of God who died at Calvary but only human nature. This is because trinitarianism teaches that when Jesus died, the personage of the divine Son of God was still very much ‘alive’ in His divinity whilst the truth of the matter is He was decidedly dead in His humanity.
In becoming incarnate, Christ had surrendered His divinity to His humanity, which the article agrees with. This is why He could not awake Himself from death. He needed someone other than Himself (namely the Father) to do this for Him. Like everyone else in death, the Son of God did not know anything, neither could He experience anything. He was inanimate -‘asleep’ - awaiting a resurrection. Unfortunately, a decidedly incorrect understanding of the state of death gives people today a skewed perspective on the death of Jesus.
If the Father had not awoken (called) His Son from death then today He would still be in the tomb. This is the same as would have happened to Him if He had sinned – meaning that God would have left Him dead in the tomb forever – which is something that our Heavenly Father would have needed to live with forever. Allowing His Son to be made flesh did involve a tremendous risk. This reveals how much He loves us.
It must also be said that if the divine Son of God did not die at Calvary, then as an atonement for sin, our fallen world would only have a human sacrifice and not one that is divine. A human sacrifice, no matter how perfect, could not atone.

I don't fully comprehend it all just as no man does. And I'm fine with you thinking God is three distinct...parts. I don't happen to see or grasp that. To me, Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are just...God. And in fact, I can NOT grasp God, who IS Spirit, as being "distinct" from The Holy Spirit. It will never make sense to me. And I don't think God is distressed by this. I think men get distressed by it though.
Well Said Stunned by Grace. God sent Jesus to die as when people on the earth see Jesus, they see God incarnate and Holy Spirit together all around. Read John 3:16-17!
