@stunnedbygrace. take your time and study this, and please ask question if need be.
to understand the "us" and the "our" we need to go back to the beginning. Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let
us make man in
our image, after
our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Now, listen carefully as to how the US and the OUR turn to "HIS" and to "HE".
Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in
his [own] image, in the image of God created
he him; male and female created
he them.
did you notice how the "us" and the "our" in verse 26 which are plural desiginations, turned to "his" and "he" in verse 27 which are single Desiginations. please re-read those two verses again.
now, why did God say "US" and "OUR" in verse 26, but "HIm" and "He" in verse 27. answer, one word ...... "Another". what do we mean? Adam the man was one person, who was made into two persons. for the definition of Adam/man is "
ANOTHER" of oneself.
H120 אָדָם 'adam (aw-dawm') n-m.
ruddy i.e.
a human being (an individual or the species, mankind, etc.).
[from H119]
KJV: X
another, + hypocrite, + common sort, X low, man (mean, of low degree), person.
see how the kjv can translate Adam ... "
another" of himself which is another MAN ... the Woman. for she came out of man.
NOW, now, let's get the understanding of God as "
another" of himself. special notice, the woman is separate and distinct from the man, but they are of one source. supportive scripture, Genesis 2:23 "And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man". ok, good so far. that's separate and distinct ... two. in the hebrew this is called an echad strong #H259. two of the same as one. but in God case who is "a" Spirit, God is "another of himself in flesh which was to come. scripture, Romans 5:14 "Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression,
who is the figure of him that was to come.
that term "figure" here is IMAGE. what was to come was God in flesh. but God is one Person. so how did God come in flesh and still be in Spirit form? answer, he "shared" himself in flesh, the same Spirit, by sharing he is not distinct, nor separate :). well how was this done .... answer, by "differentiation". let's make it plain to understand .... "sharing". God the Holy Spirit shared himself in flesh. or he is the "ANOTHER" or the IMAGE of himself in flesh. well is he like Adam and Eve seperate and distinct ... NO. for in the Greek there is a word that describe this process of differentiation in God it is G243 allos. listen to the definition. Allos expresses a
numerical difference and denotes another of the
same sort". two, but the same. sound just like adam and eve right? WRONG, because Adam and Eve was flesh and bone, God is a Spirit. so do we have two Spirit.... again NO, the same Spirit, only Shared in flesh and blood. (can you see it now). let the scriptures speak.
Philippians 2:6 "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be
equal with God". so the nature of Jesus is the same "equal" nature of the Spirit whom you call God. scriprure, Isaiah 40:25 "To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One". answer no one, so the Spirit in the flesh is the same Spirit without flesh. for the term "form" here is NATURE,
G3444 μορφή morphe (mor-fee') n.
1. form.
2. (intrinsically) fundamental nature.
[perhaps
from the base of G3313 (through the idea of adjustment of parts)]
KJV: form
Root(s): G3313
notice the root of this word, it's
G3313 μέρος meros (me'-ros) n.
1.
a portion (i.e. an amount allotted, a part of something).
2.
a part.
another word for "
portion" is "SHARE". notice definition #2. "Part", which is the Hebrew echad. by being the "SHARE" of God he is "EQUAL" with him, not to him, but with. for being equal "to" indicate a separate and distinct person ... see why the verse says "EQUAL
WITH" and not "EQUAL
TO". just as John 1:1 "WITH" "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God". with God? yes meaning God in the SHARE or the IMAGE to Come, hence the "us" and the "our" in Genesis 1:26 & 27.
we'll let you digest this for now. study it, and please ask questions.
so the Father, ... title of the same one Spirit is the source of the numerical difference of himself in flesh. God came in flesh, hence the "differentiation" of God as the "Another" of his "OWN" self. supportive scripture once again, Isaiah 63:5 "And I looked, and [there was] none to help; and I wondered that [there was] none to uphold:
therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me". his OWN ARM.
