I grew up Orthodox and when I finally went out on my own, I turned agnostic atheist for about 11 years because I wanted to be my own light. God brought me back to the faith in the most mysterious way I never thought possible. I was an atheist mainly for the sake of logic or at least that’s what I believed I was doing. I’ve always cared about truth so I read about other philosophies and religions. I would have never thought that it would be through logic (which is God given), that I would be Christian again.

This simple realization is all it took:

Everyone has a sense of Truth. Even those who say there is no truth, are making an absolute truth claim. Only 3 “possibilities” exist for Truth with only one of them being real. Either we recognize God as the absolute, take ourselves to be God, or take something else to be God. Those who say they don’t believe in God or claim God does not exist either take themselves or something else to be God. What’s the problem here?

We are limited and so is everything else. Only Truth can be eternal which is why it’s called truth. We human beings are fallible and it is so much more work in my opinion to be atheist than to be Christian in the sense that an atheist is trying to take the burden of God which is impossible. Who is any human being to think that they could be God? It’s foolish.

An even greater deception that’s far more subtle is the belief that science is truth, also known as scientism. The atheist may say, “I’m not the source of truth, science is what leads us to truth.” But who carries out the science? Are the instruments of observation not just extensions of our limited senses? Is science impervious to bias and corruption? What did the government try to do to Oppenheimer (the father of the atomic bomb)? Modern science has set the bar too high for itself to clear. Everything must be tested via the scientific method, but the scientific method itself has not been tested against everything, because that would require us to have explored every corner of reality.

That leaves us with the final option: God must be eternal. And not just any God, but Jesus. All roads point back to Jesus, most religions pay some sort of respect to Jesus. Islam considers Jesus to be important…new age gurus consider Jesus to have been a wise teacher, etc. I didn’t choose to cause any division, the nature of Truth is divisive from all that is false. It is better to follow the truth, than to be united in error.

Welcome to the forum. Math is build on logic and is a discovery by man. It is a concept that pre-exists man. So, who came up with the concept of math?

Atheists admit the best proof of the existence of God is how the natural world obeys mathematical laws. Atheists have no alternative explanation. Atheists claim to follow the evidence. There it is.

Welcome back.

Did you ever read John 14:6 ?

Jesus says that He is both """The WAY... and THE Truth".

All other "religions" are trying to find both of those....., and He was there all the time.

And this is why atheists often believe in relative truth. And also why many spirits, manifest in other religions, claiming to be a way to God. To muddy the waters. In uncertainty people can make up their own truth.

You did not fall for the trap, instead loving the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:10

Of course, that’s one of the most famous, if not the most famous thing Jesus has said. Other religions claim to know the truth, but Jesus was the one to declare that he is the truth.

Relative truth doesn’t make any sense. If everyone has their own truth, then there is no truth. For there to be truth, it must be singular and eternal. There’s no getting away from Truth. For example, the statement, “Everyone has their own truth” is a truth claim, it is self-defeating and not to mention that it would be a human being or the state saying that…both of which are things with an expiration date.

Thank you.

Logic and math pre-exist man, yes. And since that is the case, then they have to be eternal by nature because it can only come from God. The atheist “usually” acknowledges these things pre-exist man, but then they fail to acknowledge the eternal nature of them. It’s like admitting truth exists without admitting that it must also be eternal. No one/nothing else can be eternal other than God himself.

Absolutely True.

"TRUTH" exists, because Jesus is THE Truth. John 14:6
