Apostasia means a falling away from the truth everywhere else that word is used in the Bible, and it means a falling away in that verse also. The pre-trib doctrine is not in the Bible, no matter how much people want it to be.

Most fail to look at the prototype of Babylon the Great, that of ancient Babylon, both Scripturally and historically. Ancient Babylon comes into notation around the latter part of the 3rd millennium B.C.E., for Nimrod, a great grandson of Noah, founded the city of Babel.("Babel" meaning "confusion", Gen 10:10)

However, Nimrod proved to be "a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah."(Gen 10:9) Local citizens, thinking of their city as God’s seat of government, claimed that the name was compounded from Bab (Gate) and ilu (God), signifying “Gate of God" instead of the verb ba·lal´, meaning “confuse.”

Nimrod started a rebellion or apostasy against Jehovah God after the global deluge. This rebellion brought about the instigation of false religious practices and teachings that have persisted down till our day.

At Jeremiah 50, it names several of her false religious gods, saying: "The word that Jehovah spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by means of Jeremiah the prophet: "Tell it among the nations and publish it. Around the year 618 B.C.E., king Nebuchadnezzar (II) in determining which city to attack (either Rabbah or Jerusalem), looked to divination, with Ezekiel writing that "he has shaken the arrows. With all the clearly seen events in today's world, it's amazing to me that any believer on Christ could still hold to the old Reformer's beliefs that the pope and the Catholic Church represent the seat of Antichrist (no, I'm not a Catholic, I'm a Protestant Christian).

Here we are in 2013, and the unbelieving Jews are preparing to build another temple in Jerusalem to start up the Old Covenant ceremonial worship and sacrifices again.

They forget the 60's when the Holy Spirit roared like a whirlwind through the Catholic church (and other churches) and filled many Catholics with the Holy Spirit, just as He did on the day of Pentecost. Maria Von Trapp (from the Sound of Music) was one of the most stubborn ones, but she too was filled. IT was a glorious time for the Catholic church. It certainly proved that many there were born again believers.
