Worldometer is A-Political....pure science.
But the basic truth is that: People are dying who haven't been vaccinated.
This is indeed a truth John, but it is a misleading and partially stated truth which means it is somewhat divisive in nature.
The clear truth is that the vast majority of people who get the SARS-COV-2 virus
survive.
Around 80% or more cases have no symptoms at all
Other cases only have mild symptoms that require no hospitalisation
So yes, whilst a small minority die from the disease, the great majority do not. In fact some 98.9% of people survive it.
It is worth being informed on such matters imo
For example are you aware of the results of the Pfizer vaccine trial?
In their Phase 3 trial Pfizer used some 41,135 people, half of which were vaccinated and the other half in the placebo group.
Pfizer and BioNTech Conclude Phase 3 Study of COVID-19 Vaccine Candidate, Meeting All Primary Efficacy Endpoints | Pfizer
Such numbers seem significant, and in terms of testing safety, they are. But what the public perhaps does not realise is that this did not mean that there were 41,135 cases of Covid. In fact quite staggeringly, out of all those people, there were only 170 confirmed cases of Covid of which 162 were in the placebo group and 8 in the vaccine group, by which numbers Pfizer arrived at it's claim of 94% effectiveness.
But when you look at those numbers you realise an astonishing fact.
It means that the placebo group, the people who were NOT vaccinated, saw only 162 cases of Covid amongst some 20,000 people.
That is remarkable. It means there chances of getting Covid were a mere
0.81% even without being vaccinated. In the vaccine group there were 8 cases in 20,000 people which is
0.04%. The difference between 0.81% and 0.04% is 0.77%. Less than 1% difference !
So the people in the placebo group had a 99%+ chance of not getting serious Covid illness even though they were not vaccinated.
I think those are great odd personally and as a result of assessing my personal risks due to age, gender, state of health etc I am absolutely not inclined to take any of the vaccines. Others who are extremely vulnerable will of course make their own personal risk assessments and decisions.
The story for the Moderna vaccine trial is very similar.
https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2035389
30,420 volunteers in the trial. 15,000 in each group.
The placebo group only saw 185 cases of Covid
The vaccine group only saw 11 cases.
So the unvaccinated people had a 98.9% chance of not getting Covid from the outset and the vaccine reduced that chance by a mere 1.13%.
It is what it is.
So yes, there are people dying but they are a small minority compared to the size of the global populations and the vast majority of people survive Covid and a huge proportion of those have no symptoms at all.
