Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: (Amos 8:11)
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things. Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. (Joel 2:21-23)
The Lord put this on my heart this morning, as a word of encouragement to the Body of Christ in this land. The contrast here is undeniable, the land is suffering a famine, but in the wilderness there is providence. So many of us here in the U.S. are so tied to this land that we are distraught with the direction she is heading, But remember God Is in control, and he has a plan for us even if it is in the wilderness of life. Remember Israel had to walk through the wilderness to cross into the promised land, so too must the church as we enter into God's resting place.
God Bless.
