Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Taken Well, yes, there may be all kinds of reasons and each person comes individually to being ready. For those who reach the age of 18, the weeks and months and years subsequent to the big 18 seem to mark huge numbers of potential tattooees soon becoming "ready".

All the young people with whom I have spoken with Bible verses tattooed seem to have them done for evangelistic reasons.

With all the physical activities people participate in perhaps Biblical tats are a newer way to reveal their godly adherence, rather than jewelry that becomes cumbersome or a “Hangup” during physical activities.
Me, I like jewelry, have nice pieces, more so for special occasions and to leave to kids and probably g-kids, but do not especially like to wear jewelry, gets in my way doing daily chores. You know I do not have tats, rather I elect to give away a ‘God Bless you”, to people I come in contact with.

(And of course years ago tattoos generally were what men were more likely to engage in. But today and for not a few years women have of course participated confidently in getting tattooed.)

Yet today to Christian young ppl entering adulthood participating in it does not seem like anything new or unusual. As I mentioned, all the young people with whom I have spoken with Bible verses tattooed seem to have them done for evangelistic reasons.

It seems likely that for many Christian young ppl participating in this means to express witness sentiment from Scripture is not something novel or unusual but rather instead participating in it would seem to them to be an opportunity not to be missed.

Sure...But then not to overlook, inasmuch as the World Governments want a surveilling eye on every person...tats are proving as a successful tool along with “their” “Arsenal” of chip ideas.

I think individuals get tats for all kinds of reasons, from simply liking, to a bonding with a group, as a tribute to an other, a dare, a reminder of something, etc.

@Taken I think it's partly a cultural thing; some Christians naturally lean towards the idea of getting inked up in order to express things which are deeply held by them and maybe could become a talking point to others.

(On the other thread in another context the various cultures of thinking were being discussed which might influence the way Christians from different places view certain things.)

While for some Christians getting a faith based inking might seem something unexpected and bold to do, to others it might seem a quite natural way of expressing things they hold dear: going to the parlor to get inked up might well seem a rather benign and wholesome thing to do confidently.

@Pearl Fact is, that some ppl are just perfectly comfortable with the idea getting inked up about something that is very important to them; for others, it's not part of their personal custom.

(It's not necessarily anything to do with them having different beliefs or values.)

Christopher means " bearer of Christ" !
Tara is Irish and has different meaning in different cultures. It means " star" and symbolizes the " light of the soul" !

My son passed 8 yrs ago as a believer that God made a great overcomer in this life of the snares of Satan.
My daughter bears the witness of loving God and seeks him.

I have planned a crown of thorns, interlaced with a majestic golden crown attended over by a dove with wings encompassing both in a cameo size at my wist. I also want at my other inner wrist el shaddai " God Almighty" in calligraphy.

Yes, well, wanting to use ink as an effective means of encouraging Godly meditation and thankfulness, is evidently the case for you as an inked up Christian woman.

Seems like so soon after finally doing what you've wanted to do after all those years, it offers such an opportunity to express clearly and permanently what you so deeply feel, that the prospect of receiving more ink is something that you're already actively planning. I can see how those further designs being planned would actively fit in with each other. You might find that if they are a bit bigger they take a bit longer to heal than the earlier tattoos and maybe hurt a bit more, but then if the joy of it strongly motivates you, it certainly won't be a big problem.

Do you think you'll use the same tattoo artist? so does s/he know you might be back for more?

@Taken Seems like you would kind of like minimalism in jewelry: small but classy.

Some ppl pursue a minimalist kind of tattooing also; e.g, a small Christian fish sign <>< on a wrist, etc.

He is a very young gifted lad. Has been on his own since he was 13 yrs old and is now only 19.
I will go by and discuss it with Him soon to see if he understands both tattoos I want.
The second isn't just letters but is a crown of thorns with a majestic golden crown intertwined and presided by a dove in lighting between the 2, symbolizing the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost!

Though he's a young artist at 19, he probably has tattoos and ear piercings himself (I think you said he does piercings as well) and would likely regard it as just a job, although if when you soon talk to him it might just cause him to want to search the Scriptures for himself; especially if he sees the sheer joy you have in receiving repeated inkings of such a nature.
