100%@TLHKAJ Wonderful he left that faith testimony of precious memories.
From a small child of about age 7, my son demonstrated that he would lay down his life for someone he loved. We had many many good and happy memories despite much intense opposition, difficulty, and danger.@TLHKAJ Wonderful he left that faith testimony of precious memories.
@TLHKAJ I'm guessing that your powers of recall of his testimony and heart are extraordinarily clear and sharp. From a small child of about age 7, my son demonstrated that he would lay down his life for someone he loved. @TLHKAJ It may indeed turn out to be so, yes. Ppl do change their minds also as the years go by.My sons have never expressed a desire for a tattoo. In fact, they both have expressed that they didn't intend on getting one.
Matthew will never change his stance. His race is run.@TLHKAJ It may indeed turn out to be so, yes. Ppl do change their minds also as the years go by.
@FHII Interesting comments....Well, I have a tattoo, and I am not ashamed of it. Folks have told me that its addictive, but with me it wasn't. In fact, I forget it is there. I have thought about getting another one, but have no desire or design in mind.
My flesh and its actions, much less the markings I Put on it, have no bearing on my salvation! My flesh ain't going to heaven. Not my tattoed parts or my untattooed parts.
I do have one plea though... I am a guy so I talks to you girls... You are more beautiful with what God gave you than what you put on your body! Some tattooes are art, but others and too many are pollution and merely graffiti. I can look past that because I would rather look at character and soul! But why pollute your God given beauty?
Just saying...
@Taken You're right; a faith based tattoo can be received in a discreet and wholesome way by those who are of a thoroughly conservative outlook, right?Sure. I’ve seen small and large tats, that are place on the skin boldly and discreetly.
@Taken Although your family is maybe all ink-free, yet some families of Christians of conservative tastes and persuasions seem to be able to have them done in a wholesome and tasteful way: my wife and I talked to a young lady with John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area in cursive script.Sure. A Skin billboard of sorts.

@Angelina Well, okay; you're not sure whether you want to say you like some of them or not. Fine.....:)no brother. Don't want to get into this again.
@Taken Well....that's very interesting reasoning....thanks....! :)I and my spouse are without tats. Other family members have tats. Their own reasoning. Their own choices. A neighborhood kid, that had a pretty crummy home life and ended up in prison, I use to mentor during their incarceration, had elected to have quite a number of in prison tats. Not impressed with the mishmash of tats, but do understand a sort of claiming, the prison system controls their body, but doesn’t own it.
@JohnPaul Some ppl do indeed regret their tattoos; some want them removed; others have them changed; e.g., a Christian woman with the name of an ex-bf tattooed (e.g., "BILL") might opt to have it changed to something reflecting her faith instead, i.e., maybe "BILL" changed to "BIBLE", etc; a good artist can sometimes manage to do it neatly.I would have them removed but can't afford it, so I'm stuck with them.
PS: @Taken I wonder if s/he only got the first of the tattoos while already incarcerated? or whether s/he had gotten some already and then got more in prison........Not impressed with the mishmash of tats, but do understand a sort of claiming, the prison system controls their body, but doesn’t own it.

I reckon anyway that your family members' own reasoning for becoming tattooed was maybe a bit different from that interesting reasoning of your friend that was in prison for getting his or hers.
@Taken Losing her mom during the sentence must have been traumatic for her. Sounds like you spent a great deal of time and effort trying to encourage her.Definitely.
The prisoner, was a female. Wrote letters, and the visits an all day trip because of distance there and back. The glass partition, because we were not family members. But at every visit, I had also at that same time always made an appointment with the Warden to discuss her behaviors, to bring conscience thoughts to her and her improvements, taking classes, getting along with others. After a couple of years, the Warden allowed open visits without the partition. Months later the girl had a Date release with supervision scheduled. About a month before her release date, the girls mother passed away. I appealed to the Warden for an earlier release for her to attend her mom’s funeral. The Warden granted that release and DID NOT require her to return for the remaining weeks. Communication is Key. To a Warden, every prisoner is simply a Number. And typically becomes a name association, when behavior is consistently poor. As Jesus taught, Look for the good.
Anyway, just sharing an experience. Sort of what I think you are expressing with Scriptural leaning tats.
@Johann Some Christians indeed prefer not to.I, personally, have never "inked" myself after coming to a saving relationship with our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus

@Johann Some Christians indeed prefer not to.
Others regard a Bible verse tattoo as a witness tool that is effective in encouraging conversations.
@Johann I appreciate your post and sentiment. My wife and I talked to a young lady with John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area. All the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have talked seem to have had them done as witness tools. These function as conversation-starters.A tattoo is no effective witness tool @farouk, that goes contrary to scripture since the gospel is the dunamis to everyone that believe, not a "ink up" vessel void of what really matters, the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Hence my question
Do we talk our walk, or walk our talk in the sphere of the Ruach HaKodesh, in the Highway of Holiness?
