Is this coming from a place of personal experience? I ask because many have expressed frustration with your inability to logically and coherently follow Scripture.Any doctrine which leads people to hate other people should be avoided. That is all I am saying. Thank you for posting ElieG12.
“The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’”
Luke 18:11-12 NLT
I feel sorry for you. Maybe you should look for better company.I suffer from hatred. ...
“Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:8-10 NLT
You have said too many times that you suffer from hatred, so the least I can say after reading you repeat it so much is sorrow.Don’t feel sorry for me. And I don’t believe hatred will ever end except in Jesus. He gets us through by his strength.
You might be "authentically" off track-naturally, you don't need guidance when you consider yourself your own ultimate authority.Hey thanks EliG12, I just like to be authentic. I don’t know how you may believe but I believe we live in the new heavens and earth already.
I’m not afraid of myself, nor a danger to myself or anyone around me. I’m not seeking for help or advice from anyone.
I’m just speaking of anyone who is out there that teaches doctrines that lead to hating others, should be avoided.
Thank you, and you have a good rest of your weekend too.
“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless? Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.”
James 2:14-26 NLT
God is also holy, just fearsome and righteous. His love cannot touch what cannot abide in His perfect holiness.Hello @Episkopos,
God is love. And love is defined in 1 Corinthians 13.
Doctrine is simply teaching, or instruction:
1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
What you quote is from the horrible KJV translation. Better translations don't use the word doctrine but law or teaching.Doctrine matters a great deal- just as love does!
