Greetings to all!

See attached link (there are many others available).

Some are saying that a Sikh Prayer at the GOP convention was inappropriate.

I thought it was fine, but I also think that the Sikhs, like the Jews, are our kindred spirits.

Your take?

Peace and blessings.

There were prayers to our God by believing Christian speakers. I don't think her prayer in any way invalidates those.

I also believe non-Christian can not be major players in the Republican party. There is a spiritual war between God and every other spirit that lures people away from the son. So they will not get traction on spiritual matters in the hearts of their fellow non-believers.

Remember this is the world. The GOP is not the church. As Christians we would object. But the GOP is not our Savior nor our goal as believers. We take what is good and reject what is not.

Thank you for your thoughtful response.

Respectfully, I disagree.

To begin, we should be able to work with anyone whose faith commands them to Love God and Love Our Neighbors. Thus, Sikhs and those of Jewish faith are, to me, kindred spirits in faith.

In a wider context, there are indigenous peoples the world over who believe in a spirit world as well as their own version of the two great commandments. (See also Romans 2: 14,15; and Acts 28: 1 - 7.) Since we know we are by nature fallen, it cannot be an accident that all over our planet there have been communities of people with these same core beliefs; God must have been working in their lives!

Surely we can find common political cause with all those people who believe in and practice Love Thy Neighbor, regardless of their spiritual roots.

If you still disagree, I understand.

Peace and blessings.

Matthew 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

Among the Jewish community 70-80 % are Democrats. Knowing the Democrat's opposition to Israel I find this insane and self destructive.

The minority of Orthodox Jews in the US are the exception being 75% Republican. Perhaps they see that the Republicans make America an ally for Israel instead of an enemy. But they are by no means friends of Christians in Israel. So I don't consider them to be on the side of God either, I see their motivations as being from a religious spirit.

So much for making the US a Christian nation again.

It requires those who are called by His name to humble themselves and to repent of their turning away from God so that God can heal the land in which they live.

What I am seeing are arrogant people who believe that they are called by His Name who are not being able to see their sin of turning away from God and who will not humble themselves and repent of turning away from God. The evidence is in the sins that are manifesting themselves in their respective lives because they have turned away from God and are steadily increasing in noise.

If America elects Trump, then they believe that they will be able to heal their land/nation and fix up what is wrong in their nation.

This is of itself evidence that the nation of the USA has turned away from God and needs to repent.

Shalom

Thank you.

Pardon my confusion: What about Mark 9:38-40? There, Jesus concludes with “whoever is not against us is for us.” It would appear He is saying that whoever practices Love Thy Neighbor is involved in the same work, and should not be condemned.

What can we say to ethnic Jews (and Christians) who are lured by the political message “elect me, me, me and I will help poor people, the elderly, the downtrodden, the lame, the blind, . . . .“? My reply (apparently not persuasive) is that each of us has a personal responsibility, given by God, to Love Our Neighbors, and it is wrong to delegate it to politicians who will spend some money helping people, but vast amounts enriching themselves, their supporters, etc.

And that doesn’t even begin to address today’s political support for evilness, lying, etc., all in the Godless quest for power, prestige, money, & selfish sensual pleasure.

If people genuinely sign up for conservative principles, I will try to work with them, regardless of their faith.

Peace.

America is not nor was she ever intended to be a Theocracy.

Look to your imperilled homeland. You know nothing of Christians in America.

I also say the same thing to people in Australia, and they too cannot see that they have turned away from God. They claim that there are cultural differences between the USA and Australia and as such the "sins" in the respective nations reflect those cultural differences, but the primary sin in both nations is identical in that the people who are called by God's name have actually turned away from God and as such the "teacher" who I was explaining this to, could not see that the primary sin in both nations was the same.

You are displaying the same misunderstanding as the "teacher" did in the church I attend in Australia in that you are ignoring the primary sin which causes the manifesting culturally different sins to become visible and as such because you do not obviously manifest the culturally significant sins of your nation that you have not "sinned" but the primary sin that you have displayed is still there because you will not acknowledge that you have actually turned away from God and if you tweak this and that in your nation's "laws" then you will be able to live peacefully knowing that as a Christian you have plastered your primary sin over so that it is invisible and cannot be seen by you. This problem is worldwide.

The same symptom of the primary sin is present in all countries irrespective of where you live.

Your post simply demonstrates this fact.

Goodbye.

Christians have the Holy Ghost... well some do since Jesus said there are many tares among the wheat

Sikhs and Jews do not have the Spirit of God in them or with them seeing they both reject Jesus Christ as being the only pathway unto salvation
