In the pages of the Bible, the attributes of God shine forth in glorious splendor, revealing His holiness, righteousness, mercy, grace, love, faithfulness, sovereignty, justice, omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. In Exodus 34:6-7, the Lord proclaims Himself as "merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin." These verses illuminate the depths of God's compassion and patience towards humanity, His willingness to forgive, and His unwavering commitment to His promises.

In Isaiah 6:3, the prophet declares, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory." This triple repetition of "holy" emphasizes the absolute purity and transcendence of God's holiness, underscoring His awe-inspiring majesty and calling us to approach Him with reverence and humility.

Throughout the Psalms, God's attributes are extolled, with Psalm 89:14 affirming, "Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face." Here, we see the foundation of God's rule over the universe, where righteousness and justice are upheld alongside steadfast love and faithfulness.

Furthermore, in Psalm 139, the psalmist marvels at God's omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence, acknowledging that there is nowhere we can flee from His presence or hide from His sight. This profound understanding of God's all-encompassing nature brings comfort and assurance, knowing that we are continually held in His loving embrace.

As we contemplate these attributes of God, we are invited into a deeper relationship with Him, to reflect His character in our lives, and to walk in obedience to His commands. Through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to live lives that honor God and bear witness to His goodness and glory. Thus, let us strive daily to be holy as He is holy, trusting in His mercy, grace, and love, and surrendering to His righteous rule over our lives.

Peace

We have many preachers on this forum Jesusfollower.....self appointed ones might I add. It is near impossible to have a real conversation with a preacher, mainly because they set themselves up as knowing with the assumption that the reader/ listener is unknowing.
I hope real conversations are possible with you?

I
In the beginning, a canvas bare,
Love's gentle brush, the only air.
From void and chaos, light did spring,
Creation's dance, a wondrous thing.

Through whispered words, the earth was formed,
Each living thing, by love adorned.
From starry skies to oceans deep,
In every crevice, love would keep.

Man fashioned from the dust of earth,
With breath divine, a sacred birth.
In love's own image, they were made,
With hearts to love, not hearts to fade.
But shadows fell upon the scene,
As doubt and fear crept in between.
From Eden's gate, they turned away,
Yet love pursued, through night and day.

Through flood and fire, through trials sore,
Love's steady hand, forevermore.
In covenant, in rainbow's hue,
A promise made, old yet new.

In Bethlehem, a babe was born,
Love incarnate, hope adorned.
To bear our burdens, heal our pain,
To show that love can still remain.

So let us turn from violence dire,
And let love's flame burn ever higher.
For in creation's grand design,
Love's radiant light will always shine

DISECTION

Oh can we tell the story
and do we sing the song
of Jesus and his glory
the immortal risen one

Of course the other Jesus
yes, he’s around and sung
the counterfeit that washes clean
the work that God has done

Do we hear that still small voice?
and can we heed the call
to put on all the armour
lest deception rules the wall

That stately clean cut bearing
of an angel in disguise
has fooled the world with wonder
we need ointment for our eyes

Taking note of our direction
checking compass in the night
it’s not always clear and obvious
the counterfeit is tight

And who’s the other Jesus
that masquerades as Lord?
in our spiritual revivals
with our preaching self absorbed

Yes, he can fix your problems
find your keys and get a job
cater to the feel good feeling
worship self and think it’s God!

THE REPLY

In friendship's guise, a plea sincere,
To hold honesty, to hold dear.
Yet in the dance of words we twirl,
Mockery's venom, insults swirl.

How swift the shift from trust's embrace,
To jests that cut, leaving no trace.
A paradox in human guise,
Seeking discourse, but with lies.

Oh, noble heart, with courage true,
You face the storm, though winds accrue.
But in the face of such disdain,
Is friendship's bond not rent in twain?

For truth, it seems, is but a blade,
That wounds the soul when mislaid.
And in the ruins of what could be,
Resides the ghost of amity.

Greater Visions

Talk to me of greater visions
that lift the heart, that opens prisons
to make the daily burdens pale
with given strength to face the gale

Enabling visions that folk of old
with boldness went to face the cold
of scaffold, stake and guillotine
to light a path for most unseen

A hope that in that trying hour
gave strength against the darkest power
and lifted them from temporal gains
to overcome their mortal pains

Ahhhh, that’s the vision that is sought
the inner strength to put at naught
what promises in lights and sashes
to be revealed as worthless ashes.
