IF even HIS love is tainted, it means some other being is tainting it...

so then, we might conclude that we are provided IRL analogues for our relationship with God, from the perspectives of both good and evil.

And these explanations are not satisfying to us of course, but that is because we are conflicted, double-minded, "The bed is too short on which to stretch out, And the blanket is too small to wrap oneself in," we are "two men in a bed." So, you are two men in a field, and one must be taken, and the other left. Do this part, and then maybe approach this judging God thing after that imo.

We could explore how closely we relate to the "third" that fell from heaven, or there are other valid perspectives here, but if the blanket is still too small when we are done talking, they really don't help much imo. If one of your men is not taken from the field, and the other left, then no purpose is served.

then you must conclude that God is evil and capricious--an opinion we see espoused in many Christian povs even, our common interp of Job, etc, fire and brimstone sermons--or you must come to some other conclusion, and all i can say there is that my reflections have led me to understand that Free Will is a wonderful and terrible thing, and "evil" is subjectively defined.

There is no conclusion.
If something about God cannot be understood,
it's best to leave it alone.
We can't understand everything, we'd be on the same level as God.
Everyone must come to their own understanding, or acceptance.

We still fall back on the God being all-good idea.

i don't conflate presenting us with a choice with God not being love or all-good though; darkness is separated from light.
So i would have to hear how that analogy is made first.

He could have still given us a choice...
Him or neutral.
Why would it have had to be bad?

ha well we are not in a position to judge though--how do you know that we are not just calling neutral bad? What is evil exactly, anyway, iow? Define evil, and its subjective nature will be seen in the definition. Then we can answer "why evil?" and the answer is going to more or less be "because it is you who gets to define 'evil' there, differently than God defines it."

ah, well, sorry anyway; but i believe evil comes from God, "I create evil," and i see how evil works for good, so prolly that is why the quote read that way, my assumptions not yours iow.

What caused that glitch?

if you guys insist on this approach, i did. Or we did, whatever. Bestowing Free Will upon us caused the "glitch," the separation from God. We now have a choice, whether to be "one" or not.

We're trying to understand where evil comes from.
Do you believe God created evil?
