Hi debp -
What i find strange regarding “hair color”…
Daughter was very blond…
Young elementary friend had cancer…blond hair, fell out from cancer treatment, grew back dark brown.
Daughter as a teen, cut bangs, put a brown dye on hair out of curiosity…then went back to her natural blond.
Shaving off all hair, multiple times as young adult, and now her natural hair is dark brown…
Curiously strange to me….

God bless you…

My wife had a similar experience. Before chemo, brown hair; after chemo, blond. Soon afterwards, an old friend I hadn't seen for a while took me aside and said, "Now Lambano, I don't want to get into your personal business, but I know your wife is a brunette, so who was that blond I saw you kissing?" My wife thought that was hilarious.

UPDATE…. Sept 19th.
It has been a few weeks since daughter had cochlear implant surgery….and today was her Doctor appointment for activation.

It was very strange at first, she saying everyone talking sounded like cartoon characters….

But the great news…is she was getting sound!

it’s a progression, she having a small amount of definition and then in a few weeks an increase in how the apparatus operates.

We face-timed for nearly 3 hours before her appointment and then shortly after her appointment for a little while….she speaks very well, yet after her appointment and activation, I notice her Hard constants were more defined, so excellent for her own speech….
With me and her family she asked us to speak to her with our hand covering our mouth so she could not lip read….
And already even with low range activation…she did quite well understanding short phrases speaking to her…

She is so grateful and thankful to you ALL for your well wishing thoughts and prayers….that her surgery would be a success for her…

Praise God…and thank you all.

Glory to God,

That is so wonderful to hear!!! Happy for her and you all.

My mom, now deceased June 21, couldn't hear in her senior years. A hearing aid helped a little bit for a while....but towards the end of her life, she couldn't hear at all even with the hearing aid. So I understand what a blessing hearing is.

August 27<—->Oct 21 nearly two months since daughter’s ear surgery…

God is Good and your thoughts and prayers are so good and so appreciated…Daughter thanks you, I thank you so much.

She has had two appointments to adjust the sensors…and she is in WOW mode each day, discovering sounds she just could not imagine.

Her what? Huh? What? Is something she has noticed has subsided dramatically….

She heard “whispers” off to the side when we were FaceTiming with her…and responded to the “whisper”!! Yep a teary eye moment!

She has been listening to music and oh, oh, that’s what they were saying (singing hard to lip read)….and all the different instruments sounds tickle her heart with joy.

Her little 5 yr old son…getting used to not having to get in his moms face, or turn her face toward him to talk to her….and she says…golly he talks all the time…didn’t know that! And it’s mom, mom, mom, guess what….guess what…this is important…blah, blah, blah….then Because this, Because that…

It is only sound in one ear…but she is Ecstatic saying IF nothing Improves over the course of the next several months…She is so thankful that God has given her a miracle.

So again thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers…God abundantly bless you every one.

What a blessing to hear this report, brother! God is so good. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

@Lambano / TLHKAJ….thank you…

For YEARS on her routine checkups, testing, aid updates and ear molds replacement….we would always ask, and a couple of times she shaved her hair off, before the appointment…as a hair cut, no problem….but was told each time…she was Not a candidate for a Cochlear implant. It was within this past year, she went to an advertised state of the art, latest technology, audiologist, that she was first told of the possibility for her to have surgery and a battery of tests….and months of being so excited of the prospect….and then it actually happening…and the lingering question she was warned of….. if the surgery failed she would no longer be able to use ANY aid for ANY sound…
So….yes…All prayers for her surgery success…I do trust God was Listening and am so thankful to all who prayed for her…
Praise God!

Glory to God,

God is so good!!
Your prayers and thoughts of well wishing is so much appreciated…

RECAP…
Daughter ZERO hearing right ear from birth.
Profound loss measure of hearing in left ear from birth.
Multiple aids for left ear as technology improved.

April this year…with her advanced hearing aid…was given a TEST.

The TEST amounted to her being in a booth, listening to Voices she has never heard, and no visual for her to lip read or analyze body language….listening to random statements and repeating what was said.

Her SCORE for understanddibillity…?
… 4%

Since cochlear implant surgery, she has had several office visits to adjust the implant sensors…

UPDATE…
Last visit…the same TEST was conducted ….
Her SCORE for understanddibillity?
…. A whopping 87%!!!

Praise God…this was a phenomenal tears of joy moment!!!

Still she only has hearing in one ear…and more and more discovery of sounds she has never heard or what things they apply to…. BUT….
Such an utterly awesome miracle she is first hand experiencing is the greatest gift!

Just wanted to again Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers….AND share the good news.

God bless you all,
