On April 13 I got my 2nd Pfizer jab. Then I felt a strange compulsion to encourage our local Baptist worship leader to get the vaccine. He scoffed at the idea, claiming he was not in the vulnerable age group. Like most evangelicals, he had drunk the internet anti-vax cool-aid that defies the American medical consensus. Then he and his wife got Covid and she is now dead! I feel the need to avoid his gaze, lest he impute an "I told you so" thought to me in his hour of grief.

I was a member of a prayer group whose members are mostly anti-vax, including the pastor. I quit when their meetings and even their prayers become dominated by anti-vax drivel. In my view, their stance is as serious as if they were praying for abortion clinics to stay open. The number of anti-vax evangelicals I know who have recently died of Covid has made me militantly pro-vax. In my last meeting at the prayer group, it was announced that the pastor had chest congestion, but had tested negative for Covid. I received a word of knowledge that he in fact had a grave case of Covid. It turned out that he did and he resigned from his pastorate! He has been on oxygen for weeks, but hopefully will survive.

I often wonder why anti-vax evangelicals support blood transfusions. I look forward to a booster shot when it becomes available.

I wish more would read your post. There are some here who reckon the Holy Spirit won't tell anyone to get vaccinated, I disagree with them of course, in this situation that must have been the Holy Spirit prompting you to tell your local Baptist worship leader to get vaccinated, I reckon it would have saved a life.

The next couple of moths are going to get hard. The talk of shutting down the government, I think the Dems will let it if they don't get that reconciliation Bill for 3.5 trillion. Lots of BIG talk about people losing their retirement accts and social security.
On the other hand if we go with the reconciliation, this gives the IRS authority to track any transacrions $600 and over in your bank account, credit union, or other financial institute.
What's the difference?
I say shut it down.. sorry, it's going to hurt. I live on SS, but I don't want the government having that kind of authority over our kids and grandkids.
They will literally own nothing and be happy, whether they like it or not.

Scary stuff when you realize that cartoons make more sense than real life.

I watched Jen Psaki dance around a question about Hunter selling paintings in a gallery while meeting with a possible future ambassador, I forget to where.

I don't think anything would surprise us at this point stunnedbygrace.
The injustices are worldwide and happening all the time. It's hard to keep up with all the laws being broken and somebody even pulled out using the patriot act against I think parents who are opposing the schoolboards agendas.
Things are getting dangerous.
I am so thankful I'm not living in a city right now. Any city.

Today, I was able to tell some people to behave themselves because of a post I'd just read by you. And they all responded amazingly. I've struggled with keeping a good attitude around here lately. Everyone, including you, pitched in to change that.
That led me to truly have fun for the first time in many years. I honestly didn't think it was possible for me to ever have fun again. I didn't have to try and for a short while, I forgot all about my pain and illness. Thank you, Ziggy.
