Luke 19:47 And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priest, the scribes and the leaders of the people sought to destroy him.

Again, the not caring of hearing Yahavahs Word, lead to hatred and angst against Jesus whom had the fullness of God residing within him. They hated him without a cause; though his message was true, and his kingdom was not a kingdom of this world. They did not care, and they desired to destroy him.

John 11:45 Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him. 46 But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin.

“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs. 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.”

49 Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, “You know nothing at all! 50 You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.”

Fearful of the Romans - instead of seeing Jesus as King, they feared for their honor and dignity they had with the world, in fear of their world being destroyed. In the end it did not matter, though they desired to kill Jesus, Yahavah would follow through with divorcing them, and setting their world ablaze, and restarting spiritually by the New Heaven and the New Earth. Reconciling the world to Yahavah, because of his death, burial, and resurrection, and even you could include the return which was promised by Jesus, and the Apostles whom would also continue with his message, for people to continue and remain watchful, of his coming.

John 19:6 Therefore when the chief priest and officers said to him, they cried out saying, "Crucify Him, Crucify him!" and Pilate said to them "You take him and crucify him, for I find no fault in him."

Again, a testimony of the chief priest and officers not desiring the Word of Yahavah, in Jesus the Messiah.

7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

They worshiped the law, and they did not love their neighbor as theirself.

Acts 23:
1 Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin and said, “My brothers, I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day.” 2 At this the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near Paul to strike him on the mouth. 3 Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit there to judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate the law by commanding that I be struck!”

4 Those who were standing near Paul said, “How dare you insult God’s high priest!”

In the end, this corrupted generation that continue forward since the day and age of Yeshua, and his death, and resurrection. Still saw themselves as the high standard, as correct. They looked to men, and they did not look to God, nor did they listen to Yahavahs Word, and put him to death. Whom after death, burial, and resurrection became the high priest.

Topic - Corrupt Priest

Founded in Jeremiah, in Chapter 2:4 there we see Yahavah speaking to the house of Jacob. - 5: The people have gone far from Yahavah following idols and become idolatresses. - 7: Yahavah speaks of having brought his people to a bountiful country to eat the fruits of its goodness but when they entered they defiled His land and made his heritage an abomination. - 8 The priest did not say "Where is Yahavah?" (forgetting him) and those who handled the Law, did not know him; the prophets prophesied by Baal and walked after things that did not profit.

Through out the nation of Israels history, they never did what Yahavah had told them to do. They would forget God altogether and follower after the things they sought for. When the Messiah which was proclaimed to come even to them, they would put him to death, because they did not want anything to do with God altogether. This would lead the nation of Israel to at the end of the age to be punished upon the Son of Man's return to gather those whom were of his bridegroom. There was some faithful, but not many. Even the priests themselves had become corrupted. Those who handled the Law did not know Yahavah, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, walked after things that did not profit. These things would still be happening when Yeshua had been made as a man birthed from a woman, whom was God's beloved son.
Corrupt priests & pastors cause havoc in churches. They have caused great division in my church (the United Methodist Church.) I would say that Satan is behind this.

Matthew, you don't believe Satan interacts with the world anymore. I wonder how you would explain the division in my church.

Because humans are human, Bob. Many people blame the devil, without looking at themselves. I do indeed believe that Satan has been done away with as the bible proclaims.

When I think about this, the bible speaks about us being in Christ, and God being in us. We have a choice to react by the fleshly means, or the spiritual ways of the Spirit of Christ with in us, which causes only good. Sucks your church has division, Bob but that is nothing new to me as we see from the scriptures which have been posted. There are people who love their reputation, as well as finger point and blame. Sometimes not themselves but because it must be the devil doing it...

In the Bible, God warns over and over to beware of the false teaching, false priests and He will judge and hold them to account for misleading people... But the people ALSO will be held to account for not thinking for themselves and for believing the false teachings and actually paying money to these false teachings priests and churches and following them.

Everyone sails their own ship and is responsible for what they believe and will be accountable to God in judgement.

"Cursed is the man who trusts in man" as Jeremiah wrote..We are supposed to go to God for the truth and discernment and to verify what we hear or read... not to flesh man

We can discuss things and use common sense that God gives..Read the scriptures for yourselves and dont "follow" any "flesh man" over God .. follow the ONE and ONLY God only. God is a jealous God and hates idolatry.
