You are taking that verse out of context.Blessings unto you! It has been said, "Let your yes be yes and your no be no." So I will ask you once again,"Do you love your brother in your heart?"
That verse is stating that you needn't swear by anything.
I believe I answered your question.
The real question is - WHO is my "brother"? To say that I am a "brother" in the Lord with a person who completely rejects the things I believe in about Christ - is false. We can't be "brothers" in Christ.
We can be neighbors - and I love my neighbor.
