I've often wonder why it effects some tobacco users and not others. But Jesus said this:

Mark 16:18 - and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them;

This applies to food also. Holy Spirit filled Christians have Jesus as an advantage.
Do you believe that even if Christians eat unhealthy food, like junk food, it won’t cause them harm?

I'm over 70 and have eaten fried foods all my life, and junk food. I get a physical every year and am healthy with no signs of anything. It's the lack of exercise that kills people. It keeps the weight down, and circulation good, burns up excess calories. Our bodies are miracle machines that heal themselves and uses food to store energy. We are created to work. God's word says you are appointed a time to die, then be judged.

Statistically speaking, people who eat fried foods don’t do good. If by some change you are actually healthy, you’re just an outlier in spite of a potentially bad diet. People , including Christians, following an unhealthy diet tend to be unhealthy. Nutrition plays a larger role in health than exercise. That’s why many professional athletes who are in grade shape fitness wise have major heartedness and other diseases of affluence.

Epigenetic and genetics is why some people do better than others when they do the same things

@dev553344 Let me share a true story about a man. *Sigh* Never mind, it's my uncle. He never smoked or chewed tobacco, but he developed severe lung cancer and eventually died last year.

Anyway, my other uncle used to smoke but quit and started chewing betel nut instead. My uncle used to be hot-tempered when he did not smoke, but when he started chewing betel nut, those instances disappeared.

It is God who gives life, not statistics. I will concede, that when I grew up, everything was fresh quality, including Burger king. Everyone got the same meat, including restaurants. There was no GMO, adding more preventives in French fries, plastics, except forks and knives. When you ate out, it was like eating at home. We used paper cups, straws, and bags. If trash was thrown out a car window, after a couple of rains, it was gone.

2 Kings 20 - Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord. 6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

looks like you've got all the answers devin!
chewing tobacco is the filthiest habit I've ever seen...the sputum cup.....its contents as unpalatable as a decomposing corpse
kissing a chewer? man, its off my radar!

Waitaminute. Are you a Sister then? I thought you was male from how you talk, but in this post you come across like a Sister would. Not a lot of women chew tobacco so...she's probably a Sister then. Am I right?

No advantage at all oforChristians to disobey the most basic of health principles as revealed in scripture. Eating poisonous shellfish on a regular basis will not protect Christians from the long term natural effects of mercury and arsenic and lead that pervades our oceans and is cleaned up by the crabs, the lobsters, and mussels etc that may taste nice, but were never intended as food.

I disagree. I've witnessed it.

The house I live in is OLD.
Built originally in the 1800's as a Queen Ann Victorian. Electricity, water, central heat/air were upgrades made later.

However, the original water line was made with Galvanized iron pipe. It has been needing to be replaced. Got a letter about it today telling me that the city AND the Federal Government are wanting me to replace it due to health risks associated with it. (Including cancer)

A large section under the house is that iron pipe and CPVC....mostly CPVC after that iron pipe.
I've been wanting to replace it with copper because of water pressure/volume issues. (Takes forever to fill a pot of water or tea kettle)

I hate plumbing....stuff is expensive and always leaks. (Why I use copper....it doesn't leak. It drives up the cost considerably installing it but it's least likely to leak when soldered properly....ever)
Silver solder also is expensive. Map gas is pricey too. Copper pipe is outrageous lately...if I can get any.

I might as well put in a new ball valve and upgrade the line size for the house while I'm at it.
Only a half inch main was originally installed....today a 1" line is standard with ¾" trunk lines everywhere and a ½ service drop at sinks and appliances except icemakers which get ⅜" service drops.

It's going to be a huge job to replace all the water lines in this house and upgrade all connections. But I've been wanting an excuse to do it. Prolly gonna run $2k to do it all. A LOT of the fixtures want to leak at the stub ups....thats gonna be fun to fix as well. Uggghhhh. (CPVC is no better than galvanized pipe for chemicals in your water)

And I don't want to talk about the lead paint on the walls inside and outside.

I think you are saying that you and I both grew up in houses with galvanized, lead solder, pvc, and copper lines. All which are unhealthy. Lets not forget the lead paint and asbestos floor ,and or, ceiling tile. But we are alive to tell about it, and my doctor can't find any effects.

Most of the houses I have owned has had copper pipe for drinking lines. And they haven't used lead solder for the copper in a very long time. Always been silver solder.

This one I just bought a couple years ago. It's needing fixing. Half inch water lines everywhere even for trunk lines. All needs to be redone.

Copper is healthy. Fairly unreactive so long as it's made for water lines. Silver is antibacterial. So is copper. That red paint on ship bottoms is copper compounds. It keeps off the barnacles and algae.

Clean water is unreactive to copper and copper is a needed mineral for your good health. (Up to a point)
Hard drawn copper is the best for water. Soft drawn is not as good but it is still better than plastics or iron. (Iron pipe still contains lead)

Lead contamination causes all sorts of mental disorders. Depression, mental retardation, homosexuality and psychtzophrenia .

But yes, i drank from garden hoses, rode bicycles without helmets, and all sorts of things.

If the house was built before 1980, it was lead solder. Silver came after, but slowly integrated. All copper oxidizes. If you run the water after a long period and brown water comes out first, that's the copper. Especially on the Hot water side. Pex lines are normal now for potable drinking water in houses. Only the newest and renovated houses have Pex. They still use galvanized iron for new commercial buildings 2inches and above.

In this neighborhood....
There was no water, sewer, or electricity available when this house was built.

We know where the well was once upon a time. Also the septic. Power came after TVA. But this area doesn't have TVA.

When water and power became available after WW2 and there was a renovation they were installed. They used galvanized iron pipe for water and clay pipe for sewer.

I have removed the cast iron and clay pipe for sewer and upgraded for PVC with clean outs in more appropriate locations. (It had collapsed)

Now it's time for the galvanized iron pipe to be replaced with copper. Also some more cutoffs and drains. (In case of freezes and breaks)

Most of the plumbing in this house has been replaced at some point with CPVC....except for the main trunk line from the water main. Everything connects to the old iron pipe.

God is gracious. Winking at ignorance etc. Once having learned the truth however concerning the Manufacturers instructions as to how to best look after these wonderful machines we call bodies, and then glorifying God through obedience, can we with confidence continue to live and eat like the Egyptians and expect God to protect us regardless our lifestyle choices?

Not a choice, you eat food that you do not what is in it. What kind of cheese is on that cheeseburger you got. What's in the breading on the fried chicken, etc. If you eat poison on purpose, you'll die. If poison is in food you eat unknowingly, God protects you. I've ate with a group of men at a business meeting. Everyone got sick, but I didn't. They were not Christians. I can't count the many times I got sick before I was a Christian, I mean, I was in the hospital over and over because I worked in the commercial food industry, After I became a Christian, 40 yrs now, Nada, not once, Blessed be the name of the Lord. Thank you, Jesus.

"They will eat anything deadly, and it will not harm them" (Gospels, from memory).

That said, I wouldn't risk it!
