You missing the boat my friend. We don't ''convince'' people to become Christian. The Holy Spirit MAKES one a Christian 1 Cor 12:3.
So Christians have zero involvement with having other people being Christians? So what is your view on ministry outreach?
We all 'help' toil the soil. The Holy Spirit uses our combined efforts.
I was lead to the Lord by a nun with a cane .
Basically what I said, we help convince. That part about the cane may explain why you are so aggressive.
I would like to know what public speaking you and River have done. Have you two any idea of it? The right place for it is where? Those Christians standing up there would rather be at home sitting on their bums

....but they aren't....and
unlike Jehovah's witnesses...their motivation is selfless....purely for you and I to hear the gospel. Now this is not rocket science type discerning....a
Christian doing public speaking is approachable...that's why he is there in the first place.
It was not the place or time, but how they did it during that place and time. By yelling at them so loud that they could barely hear, they made Christians seem like annoying people. We do not want people to view Christianity as a bunch of annoying, obnoxious people. Why you can't seem to get that I don't understand. Let me repeat. Although preaching to Christians is important, is it not important to involve non-believers as well? Again, what is your view on outreaching to non-believers? Are Christians to not ever mention Jesus to them? People yelling at others is not approachable. The fact that you think yelling so loud that one can't hear is the approachable also helps explain your aggression.
We are not against public speaking. The method in which the public speech occured is the problem.
The Christian thing to do by you would have been to be a peacemaker of sort. Did you do anything other then sit on your chair and post this thread? Did you counsel some of the disturbed people? Did you not approach the bullhorn Christians before they took to their stage? I would have been between the f bomb guys and the bullhorn Christians trying to keep the peace. But you are a woman, so I understand you can't.
You need to be slower in batting for the other side River. This type of argument is rife on atheist forums. Christians just open their mouth anywhere in public and they get blasted. Public speaking takes guts and extreme self sacrifice. Remember that the next time you join the crowd against them. A sporting event is loud. Would the Christians not seem dumber if nobody noticed or heard them?
There is a difference between being heard, and making it so no one can hear anything else. At my school clubs have to get people's attention all the time. They do not become so loud that no one can hear anything. It's just a matter of balance.
As I said to SNR....the very reason Christians do public speaking is to be approached and help people.
Would you / the crowd be this offended if Justin Bieber was singing there
h34r:?
Why would you even say such a thing. Of course we would. Have you ever heard of school fundraisers where they play songs by him, and ask people to donate money to just get it to stop? I do not appreciate the stereotype that all young people listen to him. SHAME. Shame on you.
The whole point is, we are not against public speaking. I know it takes guts to speak in public. I had to do a forty five minute speech in high school, my entire honors diploma depended on it. I was a nervous wreck. I thought I was going to forget everything and freak out. Thankfully I did not, but I do understand how it feels to do such a thing. To do that in front of countless strangers is scary to me, so I would want to make it count. What is the point of going through such lengths, to get the exact opposite result that they wanted?
