I’m thinking about a Rag doll cat, I’ve been researching ..,I was put off, when a guy on YouTube said that poo can stick to their bum..get caught in their fur...solution, shave the anal area..problem solved.
Are you only considering a pure breed? Shelter cats can be great. Very affectionate and you can ask about their personality.
I got several of my cats from our little street and they were great cats. Crystal I got when his elderly owner died in my building and the apartment manager was going to throw Crystal out on the street! (Crystal was an indoor cat since a little kitten.)
Miss Kitty was a long hair and poo never stuck to her bum. I think if they have a proper diet, the feces wouldn't stick. Only if they get very soft poo, that might stick.
Miss Kitty...how could someone throw her out? I adopted her at age one....she died this year at fifteen years old.
Yes we have PDSA in Brighton, but I am not on pension credit, although my son is on PIP and EsA. At the time I was working and Dan has agoraphobia , so couldn’t get to the vets. Most of the vets trips was down to me - it just left me very skeptical of the whole vets system.
I just don’t think I want the responsibility anymore. We kind of share my daughter’s cat and dog - they both ‘ just pop next door ‘ for visits if the back gate is open. It doesn’t cost me a penny !! lol
That's nice you have your daughter's cat and dog.
Since mom died and I am 74, I don't want another cat as when I die, I wouldn't want it to be alone.
Also, one income now, so not having to buy litter and food helps.
@Ritajanice If you get a cat, the scoopable cat litters are very easy. Just scoop out the little clumps of urine balls. No smell either. Just scoop once daily.
