I would prefer to go out like Moses.
And Carter was one of the worst Presidents in US history, but he was a nice guy.

His final goal in life was to live long enough to vote for Kamala.
Even nice guys make horrible choices.
First and foremost he was a democrat through and through, what does that tell you about him?
He had no true discernment about right and wrong, voted the party line and all they stand for.

I also was shocked he voted for Kamala. I wondered if perhaps he wasn't realizing what sinful things she believed in.

I did see how horrible he looked on the news.... such an awful state to be in. When my time comes I pray it will be in my sleep. I'm by myself so nobody to take care of me.

Currently I'm able to take a taxi to the bank, walk with a cane one block to opthalmologist, and next door to dentist. Take a taxi to my regular doctor.

I always thank God for strength and pray to keep going with His help and strength.

Carter and Biden were BFF together.
That also tells you a lot about him.
The Carter years were depressing.

Jimmy Carter’s presidency: A time of 'malaise' that led to the election of Ronald Reagan

Carter also attacked US energy production, I have noticed all the democrats do.

"Interest rates were something like 18%. Inflation was almost as high. The value of a dollar wasn’t worth today what it was yesterday. It was really devastating to people’s savings," Shirley spotlighted in a C-SPAN interview a few years ago.

But it’s the "malaise" speech that still stands out more than four decades after Carter’s stinging rejection by American voters.

"Jimmy Carter’s one-term presidency would be known for many things: stagflation, a terrible economy, weakness in the face of Soviet advances, but also the Camp David Accords and ushering in the Age of Reagan. Yet to his everlasting chagrin, Carter’s failed four years in office will always be reduced to the word "malaise," and his awful, terrible, embarrassing speech in July of 1979," Shirley wrote on the 40-year anniversary of the infamous address.

I'm impressed that he lived to be 100 years old but disappointed in his record as president and also in his wish to live long enough to cast a ballot for Kamala Harris. One news source even said he was more excited to vote for Harris than he was for his birthday.

Biden takes jab at Trump while applauding Jimmy Carter's decency, shares fondest memory with late president

Biden calls Jimmy Carter 'a dear friend' of more than 50 years

That explains a lot.
BFF !
Carter was aware of all the democrats were doing for years. Some of the better democrats have left the party and gone independent or joined the republican party, but not Carter.

You do not change the LEFT PROGRESSIVES out of their extremism. If they seem to change, it's fake to get votes.

Thank you for your post and the comments.

Can we pin down exactly how President Carter livid his faith as a Baptist?

Some quotes from a recent article.

“After his 1976 election, Carter quickly fell out of favor with his own faith group, the SBC, which already was changing due to the influence of Jerry Falwell’s Moral Majority and the Religious Right movement.”

’Carter spoke at an event related to the 1978 annual meeting in Atlanta, organized by the National Conference of Baptist Men. There, “he raised issues such as human rights, peace, poverty, the proliferation of weapons, and terrorism, which he felt were inherently moral problems.” ‘

‘The final straw for the Carters — as for many other disaffected Southern Baptists — was adoption of the 2000 version of the Baptist Faith and Message doctrinal statement. The former president sent a letter to Southern Baptists that explained: “I have been disappointed and feel excluded by the adoption of policies and an increasingly rigid Southern Baptist Convention creed, including some provisions that violate the basic premises of my Christian faith.” ‘

What do you make of all this: dedicated to helping the poor, but embracing liberal political positions.

Rest in Peace, Mr. President.

That is the typical trap used against the faith. Like hey!, you're not doing enough good works!
But we are justified by faith, not any good works.

Jude states it well.

Greeting to the Called

1 Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James,

To those who are called, [a]sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:

2 Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Contend for the Faith

3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord [b]God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Typically, those who promote doing good works, deprecate the need for defending the faith.
The church has enemies who desire to tear it apart.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

God’s Everlasting Love

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Carter supported abortion rights and worked to secure abortions politically, even privately encouraging people to overturn Georgia's laws against abortion.

Abortion

[edit]
Although Carter was personally opposed to abortion, he supported legalized abortion after the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade, 410 US 113 (1973).[2] Early in his term as governor, Carter had strongly supported family planning programs including abortion to save the life of a woman, birth defects, or in other extreme circumstances.

Years later, he had written the foreword to a book, Women in Need, that favored a woman's right to abortion. He had given private encouragement to the plaintiffs in a lawsuit, Doe v. Bolton, filed against the state of Georgia to overturn its abortion laws.[3]

As president, he did not support increased federal funding for abortion services. He was criticized by the American Civil Liberties Union for not doing enough to find alternatives.[4]

Clinton also signed laws legalizing partial birth abortion. Democrats have always supported women's right to chose to abort as desired.
Carter was no different.

I disliked Carter back then and nothing has since changed my mind.
I had an avowed Christian anti abortionist friend back then who supported Carter even with Carter's support for abortion rights, and I aked why will you vote for Carter seeing His position on abortion rights he said there were more important things than abortion concerns, Carter had to be elected.

Years later I found out he was actually a communist, surprised me a lot.

Adding, I found out he hated all republicans, said they were evil.
He knew I was a republican and started attacking me for being one, so he also hated me.
Then he started hating the church we went to because people there were saying to vote for republicans.
He came to age in the mid 60's in London, so he was set in his thinking by the spirit of the age back then in that place.

An old school Democrat, who had to yield to his party; but as far as loving your neighbor, building homes for the needy (volunteering to build homes for Habitat for Humanity), physically getting his hands dirty ... what other president did that in their retirement? Yes he was weak as a president, lacked a stern hand in foreign policy and inflation ran out of control in early 80's with a 16.6% 30- year mortgage interest rate! Wow.
Discernment he had as a good Christian, just didn't mix with politics.
I remember the debate with Reagan ... and his famous response to Carter: "There you go again", in response to Carter's misinformation and misleading the public specifically about Medicare. Reagan was against the legislation that past and for a different legislation, not against Medicare as a whole. We see today that Medicare costs are crippling Social Security funds.
Still, Carter, as a man of GOD, was hands down, a moral man, not like Clinton, Obama or Biden.

In Margaret Thatcher’s autobiography, she wrote VERY briefly about Carter. She said he was a very devote Christian and as decent as they come. However, that is insufficient for great leadership.
Apparently so. I always respected him as being a Christian, thought good of him.
But was shocked he wanted to vote for Kamala with her promoting sinful things.

Don't make yourself a friend of the world. Most people desire that. But the world and God are at enmity.
True Christians, the world finds offensive, and they do not like them. There is spiritual war between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world. True Christians tell people when they die, God will send them to hell unless they believe in Christ. They don't say all is well. do good works, worship your god(s) and nothing bad will happen. The message of God is beware of the snare of the world. Everyone wants to be liked by everyone else, but this is impossible for the people of God as in reality if you live for the kingdom of God, your life to them will be an offense.

The false prophets had cloaked themselves in religion and the world loved them and their false religion which also includes today the acceptance of all people with no need to repent, everyone is ok, good, and right with the heavenly god of love. Evil pops up in the world perceived as both good and evil. Most people can recognize outright evil things, but they do not recognize the things the world consider good as evil.

James 4:4
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

The Beatitudes

20 Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said:

“Blessed are you poor,
For yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
For you shall be filled.[e]
Blessed are you who weep now,
For you shall laugh.
22 Blessed are you when men hate you,
And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake.
23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!
For indeed your reward is great in heaven,
For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.

Jesus Pronounces Woes

24 “But woe to you who are rich,
For you have received your consolation.
25 Woe to you who are full,
For you shall hunger.
Woe to you who laugh now,
For you shall mourn and weep.
26 Woe [f]to you when [g]all men speak well of you,
For so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Yah, if he could he'd probably start building homes for the 12 million people who just illegally arrived, then cook them some soup too.
The billions Biden has sent to blow things up in Ukraine could have done a lot more good for the people in the US to have a better life.
Not that they would have spent it

Make America Great Again, is an America first policy.

You forgot the rest of the Beatitudes. Here they are:

5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.

The Beatitudes

He said:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:1-12

No more needs to be said from me of Jimmy Carter.

Well the thing is Brother, is that we are spiritual beings and eternal beings now that we have become born again. I am Not a human being on a spiritual journey. I am a spirit being on a human journey!

So there is no dying for me, only my body maybe. But I would not die. I would pass into life and keep living.

They say that the hardest part about learning to live as an eternal being...is the first 100 years! After that it gets easier. So I don't care if my by body lives to 100. He can take me today or He can leave me here for more years if He needs my boots on the ground here. His will not mine.
