The resurrection of Jesus, yes. That is what all genuine believers hold.
But there are several who says Jesus came back and the resurrection has already taken place.
One such person told me yesterday that the resurection took place in 70 AD and he's not the first to say it on this board.

Why have you begun another thread about the first resurrection? You still have unanswered questions from the other post on the same topic. It seems you have no answers for your contradicting doctrine, so you want to pretend like this is not already being thoroughly discussed. Why not answer the questions submitted to you, or better yet admit your doctrine is nothing more than an incoherent, contradictive mess which has no answers when presented with truth.
Revelation 20 is not his doctrine.
It's the word of God .

And Amil rejects that heresy.

I don't know Amil but I reject it.

The first resurection revelation20 speaks of ,is of them who are beheaded for their witness of Jesus and for the word of God and who did not worship the beast ,it's image or recieve it's mark.

They are murdered as Stephan was.Killed for testifying of Jesus.

They are the last and will be the first.

Those who say the first resurrection is past already are in error. They are of Mystery Babylon= vain babblings

2 Timothy 2:15-18

King James Version

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.”

This was written by Paul to Timothy, of what was being said in their time. Jesus did come swiftly, just look into John's revelation. With this, being a warning of those who say it has already past, was a confirmation that Yeshua did not come yet... again the keyword "yet." I believe that Johns warning came as close to 68-69AD, because the time was at hand, when destruction was coming upon Israel. Plagues, Faminies, etc, all dropped out, deals with Roman and Israel were made, killing off anyone who was a Christian at the time. And then the time had come which Yeshua, rescued the bride, and Israel is leftin ruins, with some people going into slave trading, etc... (but all the 12 tribes of Israel, who were apart of the bride were taken, while all the rest were laid to waste...)

This thread is about shuning the false doctrines of the “Amil” cult that says the first resurrection is past already.

2 Timothy 1

New International Version

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, in keeping with the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus,
2 To Timothy, my dear son:
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Thanksgiving

3 I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. 4 Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

Appeal for Loyalty to Paul and the Gospel

6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. 9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10 but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 11 And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. 12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
13 What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. 14 Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

Examples of Disloyalty and Loyalty

15 You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.
16 May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains. 17 On the contrary, when he was in Rome, he searched hard for me until he found me. 18 May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! You know very well in how many ways he helped me in Ephesus.

2 Timothy 2

New International Version

The Appeal Renewed

2 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. 7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.
8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
11 Here is a trustworthy saying:
If we died with him,
we will also live with him;
12 if we endure,
we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
he will also disown us;
13 if we are faithless,
he remains faithful,
for he cannot disown himself.

Dealing With False Teachers

14 Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.

17 Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”

20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. 21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

Revelation 20 is not his doctrine.
It's the word of God .

It's not what John writes in Rev 20 that is in question! It's how those who believe a/the thousand years is ONE thousand years when that is not what John has said. The Word of God is not a problem it is Premillennialists lack of understanding it that is! There cannot be contradictions found in the Word of God. Yet Premillennialists have no problem with the forced contradictions, nor do they even attempt to explain them. Those who hold this erroneous doctrine are quite good at ignoring what they cannot explain away. And then have the gall to call Amils heretics!

More projection.

Then why would you not answer a simple question? The reader can see that if they look back.

Hello WPM, we have spoken before.

I think that resurrection mentioned by Paul, is concerning everyone being raised again. We today, we're the aftermarket fruits of their first labors.

I believe this is speaking of the release of Hell, and all those who were in paradise and in prison, and the angels locked up. I believe all of the Satan and his angels were done away with, and I believe those in paradise received their resurrection bodies (they did not have them their sin was not paid for yet, and hell was not poured out yet.) Those in prison received their ressurection bodies, and the doing away with this place established the "new heavens and new earth." Where the Kingdom with open doors are there, and those outside are outside.

  1. Who is "the first resurrection" in Acts 26:23?
  2. Who is "the firstborn from the dead" in Colossians 1:18?
  3. Who is "the firstfruits of them that slept" in 1 Corinthians 15:20?
  4. Who is "first begotten of the dead" in Revelation 1:5?
Premils insist that the first resurrection is the physical resurrection of the elect at the coming of Christ and that it is the means by which men avoid “the second death” (eternal wrath) at the coming of the Lord. If we assume the Premillennialist reasoning, then surely all those that “are alive and remain” at the coming of the Lord are not qualified to escape “the second death” as they don’t partake in a physical resurrection because they don’t die, but are simply changed in a moment and caught up to meet Christ in the air? Those that “are alive and remain” partake in a ‘catching away’ not a resurrection.

This is foolishness. No one is saying that the dead in Christ have been bodily resurrected already, which is what 2 Timothy 2:18 is about. Some of us are simply agreeing with scripture by saying that the first resurrection was Christ's bodily resurrection and all believers spiritually have part in it.

Acts 26:23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

Claiming that Jesus was the first to rise from the dead has nothing to do with 2 Timothy 2:18! You are trying to slander Amils with your nonsense! And the reason is because you are completely incapable of refuting Amil. So, you resort to this instead. Pathetic.

While you don't understand the doctrine of Amil, you have the audacity to call profane and vain babblings that are ungodly and have erred from the truth!!! Who among Amils has said THE resurrection is past? Have we not repeatedly said to YOU the FIRST resurrection is past? Why would we say the First Resurrection is past? Because we are not so deaf and blind that we can neither hear nor understand the Bible tells us that Christ is the FIRST RESURRECTION and that unless we partake of His resurrection life before we physically die, we shall die in our sins!

It's one thing to lack biblical doctrine being immature, but its quite something else to continue to hold to unbiblical doctrine when you have been shown the truth time and again. Are you still a deceived babe in Christ who doesn't know any better, or have you gone from being deceived to being the deceiver??? If you think it good to call fellow believers heretics, remember as you point your finger you have three fingers pointing to you. You would do well to look in the mirror!

He has no answer. All he has is avoidance and projection. He will not even admit that Christ is risen from the dead yet wants to call us who believe that heretics.
This is absolute slander on his part. It's also an admission that he knows he can't refute the explicit scriptures we use to support our doctrine, so he has resorted to misrepresenting what we believe. It's an absolute desperation move on his part.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That is speaking about the WRITINGS (Old Testament.) But I wont tell you that the bible is not helpful in learning and growing in the knowledge of the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Timothy grew up learning the old testament writings, which us in America typically do not. Paul is reminding him of that here.
