What makes you think I still live in Canada? I am not a Canadian citizen. Although the maritime provinces are great, do you like lobster fishing?
I like pelagic fishing on the west coast, the liberals in California are trying to take that away also

Our lobster fishery is scarce, $20lb off the boat, limited commercial licenses, lower catch and higher cost, the liberals are turning everything into marine protected areas "No Fishing" however the tide is turning

My buddy had one of the few commercial licenses in Calif and he sold it with the business and moved to Oregon, he commercially rock fishes now and has fish lunch/dinner trucks making good $$$

That tariff will drive up the gallon cost of gas and diesel, maybe a lot.

The goal of Trump is to be an exporter of energy to the world, that means shutting down energy coming in from Canada

He has promised to bring back the auto industry, that means a huge future loss to Mexico and Canada "America First"

How do you feel about paying anther dollar per gallon or maybe 2 for gasoline and diesel?
The US is not allowed to use the oil it produces. Costs too much to refine it to EPA standards.
Much of it is exported.

Scott your living in a fairy tale world, it's a republican controlled house/senate, just as republicans hung together for speaker Mike Johnson, it will be the same in future voting, it's going to be a green light for the republican agenda and it's going to be a completely different America by then

The EPA will be controlled by Republicans drill baby drill, the leftist agenda that's had America bound for the past 4 decades is going to be undone like a ball of yarn in a tornado

America will be self sufficient in oil production and American jobs will return by cutting regulatory red tape and tariffs

Doubtful since Biden is doing this through Executive Order.
Agree, and if needed the Republicans control the house/senate to write a new congressional act that supercedes the 1953 act

Biden/Obama last mud slinging jab at the Trump win in Nov 5th 2024

It's going to be a republican win, win, win, hang onto your hat the ride is gonna be fast!

I am all for that, but I am living in the current real-world reality,
The US right now is not allowed to use most of it's own oil.
To change all of that is going to take a ton of political capital.
And convincing states to go along, as well as oil producers.
NY Governer just enhanced her fracking ban in the state, and seems to have the people in that state believing all of that GW nonsense.
As do most of the blue states peoples.

Everything you state is leftist agenda driven

America is presently buying low grade heavy crude from Canada and selling America's light higher grade crude at higher prices to foreign markets, however the valve between Canada and the US will be closing, and the prices of crude in Canada will drop

Conclusion: The majority of voting Americans put their money on Trump, with the liberal states CA, NY, IL being a minority in the big picture of things

Scott your problem is you fail to deal with the fact the conservative Republicans are in complete control, their riding a big bulldozer and the leftist democrats are gonna sit and watch their agenda dissappear before their eyes

Scott come on out of your cave and enjoy the conservative sunlight, it's gonna be a good day at the beach for a long time!

I reluctantly agree. Normally, Scott is on the money in political matters.

The US right now is not allowed to use most of it's own oil.
To change all of that is going to take a ton of political capital.

This is a dramatic departure from reality. From Petroleum refining in the United States - Wikipedia:
Petroleum refining in the United States in 2024 had a capacity of 18.4 million barrels per day. Although the US was the world's largest net importer of refined petroleum products as recently as 2008, the US became a net exporter in 2010, and in 2014 was the largest exporter and the largest net exporter of refined petroleum.

And convincing states to go along, as well

The Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Texas and Alaska won’t take much convincing.

In fact, only the Leftist wacko’s on the coasts will need the slightest bit of convincing.

This link is to a truck fuel card company. Not sure how it makes your case.

Having said that, your POV is at odds with a historic landslide where 90% of the counties in the country voted more Republican, who won at every level. State legislatures, judiciaries, governors, the US Congress, the US Senate and POTUS.

The forces of liberty and nationalism are marching gloriously toward God, common sense, peace and prosperity. It’s a better day to be alive today than at any point in human history. What’s with all the naysaying?

In Australia, this practice of screwing the other side before they can govern in their own right, is not tolerated, and both sides of the political spectrum have agreed that no political decisions can be made without the approval of the other major party during the period leading up any election.

As soon as the outcome of any election has been decided the winning party immediately take hold of the reigns to govern the country.

What is being seen done by the Democratic party is sour grapes politics and as such it clearly demonstrates why they should never be allowed to govern the USA again.

It clearly demonstrates that the corruption of power is ram pit within the democratic party machine.

I Agree 100% Well Said!

I'm looking forward to four years of president Donald J. Trump and eight years of Vice President J.D. Vance becoming President after Donald J. Trump hits the golf course

Look what happened when VA governor tried to get out of this climate pact, a judge condemned the action and shut down the republican Gov Youngkin ruling he broke the law, who now plans to appeal.

A Virginia state court ruled Wednesday that Gov. Glenn Youngkin broke the law by trying to remove the state from a multi-state program that limits harmful pollutants, reported Inside Climate News.

The court found Youngkin overstepped his authority when he attempted to pull Virginia out of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), an 11-state agreement that pushes power companies to pay fees when they exceed pollution limits. Under state law, only Virginia's legislature can make that decision.

Since joining RGGI in 2020, Virginia has raised over $827 million, with most of the money going directly to help families save on energy bills and protect communities from flooding. The program has already led to a 22% drop in power plant pollution across the state.

"The wrong has been righted in this moment," said Billy Weitzenfeld, whose organization brought the lawsuit. His group, the Association of Energy Conservation Professionals, uses RGGI funds to help Virginia families weatherize their homes and cut energy costs.

The ruling means Virginia can keep fighting rising temperatures while supporting residents who need it most. Half of RGGI's funding helps lower-income households save money through home energy improvements, while 45% goes toward protecting flood-prone areas.

Youngkin plans to appeal the decision. His office claims RGGI acts as a "regressive tax" on Virginians, though many economists disagree with this view.

The political reality is blue states exist and they vote for progressive democrats like NYS, that is who gets elected and ensure policies that democrats want get emplaced. No amount of MAGA thumping is going to change that. VA also continued to be a blue state, you saw them all in the latest presidential election reject MAGA and Trump just a couple months ago. I have relatives in New Jersey, brother and sister in law, wealthy, smart, who strongly dislike Trump. Have always voted democrat and no amount of discussion changes their minds. Fact is even discussing republican goals just hardens them more.

If Gov. Hochul wants a bright future for New York, she’ll end the insane ban on fracking

For all her talk of wanting to make New York more affordable and livable, Gov. Kathy Hochul refuses to even contemplate a huge potential boon to the state’s economy: lifting the ban on fracking.

Instead, last month she extended New York’s hydraulic-fracturing ban by prohibiting a new technique to use carbon dioxide to extract natural gas harmlessly.

This, when fracking is used across the country with no sign of the harms cited by its critics; the ban rests on nothing but pseudo-science and green bigotry against any and all fossil fuels — even though the technique and the abundant natural-gas drilling it has allowed is responsible for the US energy revolution of the last two decades and most of the nation’s progress in reducing carbon emissions.

It’s in wide use right next door in Pennsylvania, and a key reason why electric bills there run about half what they do here; it’s brought billions in economic benefits to the Keystone State.

“If New York were able to produce just half the natural gas Pennsylvania does,” notes energy expert Jonathan Lesser, it could create “upwards of 50,000 direct jobs” and “many more indirect ones.” The resulting “tax bonanza” would bring Albany several hundred million dollars a year, “plus over $100 million annually in impact fees for local communities.”

Hochul’s fracking foolishness locks $1 TRILLION of energy underground — and hurts New Yorkers
This crusade slams quality of life across the state, outlawing new gas hook-ups for homes and businesses and pushing up power prices even as it makes future blackouts a near-certainty.

And Hochul late last month tripled down on the nonsense by signing the so-called “Polluters Pay” Act, which aims to raise $75 billion with new charges on energy producers — costs that will inevitably be passed on to energy consumers, namely every man, woman and child in the state.

New York will fall even further behind the saner parts of the county as natural-gas production skyrockets after President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

Is it any wonder that United Van Lines ranks New York third on its annual list of the “Most Moved From States” in 2024?

The state won’t stop losing ground ’til it reverses course, and allowing fracking is the simplest first step: It won’t cost Albany a dime, but instead provide a windfall that could easily replace the MTA’s “congestion pricing” toll income and allow cutting many other taxes.

Yes, lifting the ban likely requires a huge political fight, but no Albany battle is more worth waging.

If New York is ever to rise from its economic doldrums and enter a new era of prosperity and affordability, it must face reality and join the rest of America in embracing fracking.

Democrat's ideological insanity has infected people's minds, and it just does not go away overnight.
It's a continual cold war. Democrat politicians to gain power in the future will just rebrand their party on the outside, but inside they will remain the same as they are now. They will speak more lies to get elected, and nothing will change. And their judicial lawfare activism will continue.

The house remains narrowly republican, plenty of democrats were still elected, people still vote for them. Surprised me how many people still are, shows a lot of the country remains in the democrat party. The reason republicans gained all 3, house, senate, potus is independents and a few cross party voters who decided to vote republican this time.

Youngkins case is on appeal, try using another case that's been settled, there's a good chance Youngkin is going to cut the liberal red tape and win at the higher courts

In the past courts have not allowed ban reversals.
But don't you think Trump and congress in opposition to Biden will change the law?

Biden's actions, which protect more than 625 million acres of federal waters, could be difficult for President-elect Donald Trump to unwind, since they would likely require an act of Congress to repeal. T
And as quick as Bidens Eo's were signed and went into effect, is as quick as they can be undone by Trump with an Eo that voids an old EO.

In fact, our country has been fairly evenly divided for decades. No matter who ‘wins,’ a very large plurality, ~48%, is strongly opposed to every action.

IMO, this makes practical governance nearly impossible. Enter the Deep State. And why I advocate for peaceful secession and have for decades.

VA also continued to be a blue state

Sad that the State of Washington, Jefferson and Madison has turned blue. With 96% of DC voting against the GOP, no one can be truly surprised.

A few years ago, I read a story where 5 of the nations 6 richest counties border DC. With no manufacturing base, it’s clear political contacts drive money’d interests, aka lobby.

no amount of discussion changes their minds.
Effective indoctrination.
The house remains narrowly republican, plenty of democrats were still elected, people still vote for them.
Many forget this. We should not expect every vote to be along party lines. (It wasn’t this way when I was a kid) That it is, shows how evenly divided we are as a country.

Even if there is one crossover vote, they call it ‘bipartisan.’ This makes a mockery of what a healthy republic looks like.

The acts of a Continuity Of Government actor are not law or binding. Biden is not a duly elected President.

War is never in the interest of the people. It's just another big government program.
