Ah well if New Zealand could get through a stage 4 near total lockdown, we can do it too. Hopefully we all wake up to snow tomorrow morning, that would be a highlight.
@Cristo Rei I think some European countries weren't even allowed to leave their homes for exercise during a lockdown. At least we still have the freedom to take a walk away from home for one hour a day.
Josho, I would humbly suggest to you that the government have imposed further liberty restrictions on the nation, in the form of regulations that defines what we are allowed and not allowed to do.
What people want is to be able to exercise their free choices with respect to the Corona virus threat, under the guise that this is freedom, but the reality is that people exercising their free choice with respect to how they should act within the boundaries of the pandemic restrictions can only be described as anarchism and we can see the outcome of their free choices in the number of Victorians becoming infected.
While ever the people in the state of Victoria exercise their belief in being able to freely chose to comply with or reject outright the pandemic restrictions, the present spike in the number of virus cases will continue to climb northwards on the charts without any respites to the number of people being infected by the virus because more people are choosing to reject the present restrictions rather than to comply with them..

Yep just heard it last week, people driving long distances just to go order something from Maccas. Someone also driving from Melbourne to Ballarat to exercise.
I think that this China virus will be around for years and economy wise it would be best to of let it spread. because I am sure the economy will crash and more people will die of that than the man made China virus.

I am trying to make my way through all this. I personally believe that our freedoms are intentionally being stripped away, and that the COVID virus is not nearly as bad as is being made out in the overwhelming majority of cases, and that there are already some answers out there (which are being censored/squashed because there's money and control to be made through COVID) and that greater damage is being done by the reaction to it as opposed to it itself. That is not to take away from the trajic deaths that have occurred, but if influenza deaths were focused on and reported the same way - we'd see very similar results.
I also hate seeing the freedom's that many men have paid for with their own blood - being stripped away from us - which I doubt that we will get it all back. I also hate the debilitating fear (and cowardice) sweeping our nations that is causing not only fear - but extreme anger at anyone who opposes someone's fear as being selfish, etc - and the division that it is causing our nation.
Talk about divide and conquer. The division has occurred - we are ripe to be conquered!
Now with parliamentary acts being suspended to police (that effectively means they can operate outside of the law here in Vic) - I hate what I'm seeing beyond what I can put into words here.
However - I am also being challenged and reminded that Christ's kingdom is not of this earth, and all of my concerns I've listed have zero eternal impact. Why am I not more concerned about the people's eternal fate? Why am I too being wrapped up with what's directly before us, instead of the infinitely higher danger which is lost souls?
I see that Paul learned to be content whether in prison, or free, whether rich or poor. Through this - I'm also reminded that Victoria is one of the most wicked states in Australia, with voters rewarding a corrupt (and possibly criminal) political party at the last election - and that we don't war against flesh and blood, but the powers of darkness.
I'm reminded that more than anything else - people need to see hope. And not fallible hope from our politicians or relief from COVID (because unfortunately I think in the natural - the worst is still yet to come), but real hope that will not be moved regardless of turmoil.
People are depressed, people are in fear, people are angry - not directly because of COVID - but because what they have placed their hope in is being stripped away. Their future plans, their jobs, their security - and they're not seeing any real hope remaining. I speak not only as non-Christians but also Christians like myself who have been distracted to focus on this world. It's a constant battle to refocus.
There is great depression around at the moment and I'm not talking financially. There is a great spiritual onslaught that's goal is to bring death by any means necessary. To turn on each other, to divide, to bring hate or despair.
Hope is desperately needed beyond anything else at the moment. True hope.
If I'm honest and reflect on myself - what does the world see in me? Do they see me clearly having hope in God - or do they see yet someone else angry and frustrated, focusing on the damage among everyone else doing the same?
Where our treasure is, there our heart will also be. It is a timely reminder for me to be focused on the things above, and to encourage others in this hope as well. People need hope - and we have the hope. We have the answer! Even if I could snap my fingers, magically make COVID go away and things return to normal - that is temporary.
This leads me to the question - not what do I want through this, or what do I want to see happen in this state and nation - but what does God want through this? He is allowing this to happen. He allowed the Andrews government to remain in power (among many other wicked politicians all around the world). He is allowing the fall of the economy, and the "second wave" of COVID in this state.
Man makes their plans - and we can see evil men's plans plainly among all this.
But I am now reminded of Psalms 2 - Why are the nations in an uproar, and their people involved in a vain plot? As the kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers conspire together against the LORD and his anointed one, they say, "Let us tear off their shackles from us, and cast off their chains." He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
They are fools in their actions believing that they have one-upped God - that their plans are succeeding. They forget that God controls all - and that what happens only occurs because He is allowing it for this season.
They forget... but have I too?
This brings me to the question: What is the role I am to play in this for Him? God has a plan - and I would be honored to be involved in His plan instead of being on the side lines (or worse, be used by the enemy).
I don't believe seeing it this way means denying the hurt, the destruction, and the fear that is around us. On the contrary - it's recognising it - but putting Christ in the middle of it. I think it's easy for me as a Christian to often get distracted to look for other answers. Whether it be who gets voted in, or what laws are passed, or whether it rains or not, or COVID numbers, etc. I realise I often focus more on politics and world affairs than I should. That's not to say I shouldn't be aware - but how often do I focus on it more than Him?
I realise it also means forgiving. Forgiving those who hurt me. And loving and praying for my enemies.
I'm reminded as I type this - just like whether or not someone stops sleeping around, or whether someone stops being a thief or a liar is irrelevant and will have no eternal impact - someone doing the wrong or right thing in COVID is also a distraction and has no real benefit. I need to remind myself that my primary focus in here needs to be off this and on Christ, and lift Him up, and to be in a position to be able to be used by Him.
In the natural - we are going into irreparable destruction - of this I have no doubt. The fallout from COVID is going to be huge - beyond what anyone is currently aware of. But what about the spiritual fallout? Do I truly believe that God is bigger than this, and does God have a plan? Do I trust Him through this and am I excited about what He is about to do? Or am I distracted by the distractions of the enemy? Am I distracted by what other people are doing wrong and how it impacts me - instead of being more concerned about their eternal status.
My prayer is that God would help me to wake up, to use this as an opportunity to serve Him - and to be guided by Him. Help me to have and show incredible hope - not for my sake, but for Christ's sake - that others would see Christ and His hope in me. Help me not to look back at the distraction behind me, as Lot's wife did, nor to put my hand to the plow and look back - but to look forward - my eyes on you.
As I write this - I realise how weak I am - but I'm reminded of how strong He is. I ask that people here please keep me accountable for what I have written, and I hope and pray it's of encouragement to others as well.

Today Victoria was responsible for 98% of the reported cases over the last 24 hr period.
To date, Victoria are responsible for 67% of all the reported corona19 cases in Australia since the first outbreak of the virus in Australia.
Victoria has 4 times the percentage of their population recorded as being infected by the virus than NSW, 9.55 time the number of cases in QLD, 7.92 times the number of cases of WA, 7.54 times that of SA, 4.6 times that of Tas., 7.75 times that of the ACT, 15.48 times that of the NT, and 2.57 times the Australian percentage of recorded infected people.
It seems that people in Victoria care more about their "free choice" than their lives and the possibility of becoming infected by the virus and suffering the on going consequences that will follow.
I am not claiming that Victorians are stupid, but the figures argue otherwise.

The truth of the matter is that Daniel Andrews screwed up big time with hotel quarantine and now we have to suffer for his incompetence
Our health minister said that it was conceivable all current cases in Victoria could be traced back to outbreaks stemming from hotel quarantine
Most Victorians now are fed up with the premier and these restrictions.
We were told the lockdown was to stop our hospitals from getting full but they never came close. So what are these lockdowns for then...
We haven't been told what the plan is. Are they trying to eradicate it... Why not let nature take its course so that we get herd immunity...

I am not bashing poor old Victoria, I am only reporting the facts as I see them from what has been reported by the various States.
Cristo, I read your posts and they show that all you want to do is rebel against everything that you feel puts a straight jacket on you and limits what you can do. It seems that the solution you are advocating is for the government to allow you to exercise your free choice to do only what you want to do irrespective of how that will impact other Australians. Self centeredness is the core of the problem for the transmission of this virus, and self centeredness is the core ingredient for the establishment of a person as a deity which leads to idolatrous worship of self.
This sin will separate people from God, because people who are self cantered have already turn themselves away from God.

Around midday, the numbers will have been submitted by the various states for reporting purposes and entered into the above table.
Perhaps if you analysed the Data I used, then you would have understood how i could make the statements that I did. The Government Data supplied by all of the states.
I also agree that the number of people infected in all the states is very small in comparison to their total population. The total number of the population of Victoria that has been infected with this virus is less than 0.2050%, and the result for Australia is 0.0796%, based on the available figures for 05-08-2020.
Since the recorded data is dynamic, any report based on a particular day will also be dynamic and only reflect the available data on that day.
Since the Australian Governmental bodies, decided to impose a lockdown, the probably outcome for a no lock down scenario in Australia is a hypothetical exercise and the outcome is very subjective and probably very meaningless.
Your reaction to what I had posted is very revealing and speaks volumes as far as I am concerned.

Why are you blaming just the poor premier, for your state, for what he is trying to do when there are so many Victorians wanting to rebel against the Government directives.
Daniel Andrews in good faith delegated responsibility for the securing of the people in hotel quarantine to other parties, who, it now seems, failed to restrict the people in quarantine from leaving their rooms and or hotels.
Unless all of the people in Victoria believe in the enforcement of the imposed regulations for the control of the virus from spreading then the virus will spread and as is the case in Victoria, which is contributing the most to the "second wave" we are experiencing, it is now nearly 50% higher in the moving 14 day total, that I am monitoring, than the peak in the first wave of the virus in Australia.
In doing further analysis of my data, it would seem that the peak in the 14 day moving cases will occur probably within the next one to two weeks before it will start to decline. How quickly the decline in the 14 day moving total will occur will depend on the rate of decline in the reported daily numbers. At present the indications is that the rate of fall in the number of daily reported cases will be slow and that it may take a number of months for the 14 day moving total to fall to the levels that were occurring in May.
Because Victoria has been primarily responsible for this second wave of infections from the virus, unless there is an improvement in the responsible compliance of the Victorian people, then the decline in the 14 day moving reported virus case will not occur because the number of daily reported cases will not have dropped.
