Then I realised. It is all a Muslim plot. They've taken over all the governments of the world and we never saw it coming. It was Muslim spies and infiltrators who have Cranbourne Seventh Day Adventist Church Fellowship convinced the world to wear masks. Not only does this dastardly evil plot enable terrorists to run rampant all across the globe unrecognised and free to carry out all their nefarious plans, but they have all the peoples in the world, both male and female, wearing hajib! What evil cunning is this! What subterfuge!

:D Well done.

So it seems that by nature I'm a conspiracy theorist. That means when anything important and earth-shattering takes place in my life, or in a family member's life, or in someone's life that I catch on the news whether relative or not, I question whether it's real, fake, a bit of each, genuinely terrifying (which according to most media outlets is just about everything) , or something I can ignore as just another hoax. So when mandatory mask wearing was announced, my first question was, why? My hackles rose, I bristled in righteous indignation, thinking who do these politicians think they are, demanding I forgo the hard fought freedoms my ancestors died for? Then I thought about the $200 fine that would be imposed on the miscreants, and my righteous indignation quietly slipped away into the dustbin of history. Then I began to think about some other things that I have grave suspicions regarding. Like facial recognition cameras dotted throughout the train stations, airports, shopping centres and malls of the world, tracking the unsuspecting and recording where they are at any given moment, to be used against them should they be brought before the inquisitions of the future despotic dictators of the nations. Then I realised. It is all a Muslim plot. They've taken over all the governments of the world and we never saw it coming. It was Muslim spies and infiltrators who have Cranbourne Seventh Day Adventist Church Fellowship convinced the world to wear masks. @Backlit @Cristo Rei @Yehren There are certain maskes that are easier to breathe in compared the surgical mask by the way.

I was a medic, and I never noticed any difficulty breathing with a surgical mask. Later, I had occasion to test air quality in surgical suites, and so as an older person, I again wore the masks in those times. Didn't notice any difficulties.

I should have said the cheap disposable surgical masks, n95s probably allow more oxygen in than the cheapies, but we are told we should leave those n95 masks for the medical workers, the mask @Cristo Rei drilled holes in, is the standard disposable dust mask, there are also reusable rubber mask with chemical fume filters he could get from the hardware shop too, I like those ones, I have one at work, they are great for blocking out the chemical fumes.

But last 2 days with the new restrictions, I have been wearing the cheap disposable surgical masks, and I don't have a complaint about them so far, yes it is not the same as not wearing a mask, but they are still breathable. They do fog up glasses, but there are ways to avoid that, I work alone, so I only really need to wear it when I go out of the workshop or if a customer comes, or if I go for a walk or to a shop.

My wife is really good at sewing, so I have some nice fabric ones with non-woven inserts and precisely fitted to my somewhat prominent nose.
Quite comfortable except for outdoors on hot days.

the mask @Cristo Rei drilled holes in

DRILLED HOLES... Thanks for the compliment they do look precision those holes, don't they...;););)

That link u posted about glasses getting fogged up gave some ok ideas
* Pinch the nose of the mask for a good fit... Was doing that already
* Put the specs on after the mask... Don't understand how this would make a difference. Didn't work
* Tape the mask to your face... Uh no ,thanks
* Put a folded tissue on the bridge of the nose first. Didn't work
* Wash the specs in soapy water to create an anti fog film... This one is the most promising, haven't tried it yet, got my custom modified mask now anyway...:p:p:p

Get a small strip of very thin aluminum. Put between two layers of the mask at the top where it covers your nose. Tape it down. Then when you put on the mask, pinch the aluminum through the fabric to fit your nose. And no more fogging glasses.

Another way: Take some bar soap and put just a tiny, tiny smudge of it on the inside and outside of each lens. Then use a tissue to spread it around until you can't see it when you look through the lens.

The soap will reduce the surface tension of the water droplets fogging your lenses, and it will sheet off instead. I use this about once a month on my bathroom mirror to avoid fogging when I want to shave.

Okay so the latest name to go was "Coon Cheese" because it was seen as racist, but Coon was the last name of the founder Edward William Coon, should the Coon Cheese brand name stay? Or be changed?

Sky divers have the same problem... They use anti fogging stuff they use.

Being from NZ I can confidently say you really only have two weeks of winter here. The Autumn here is like NZ summer, as is spring. Summer here, at least in Melbourne, is like a full season of the very hottest days in NZ on steroids.

Hmmm, the South Eastern Aussie winter is more of cool winter, with snow usually limited to high mountains.

But I guess Tasmanian winters can be compared with NZ.

From a Victorian point of view, get the temperatures of Mt Dandenong, Kilmore and Ballarat and that's more of an average winter day for a low lying sea level cities in NZ.

It's still cool enough not to sweat under a mask though lolz.

Where I came from the winter was characterised by regular -5 frosts. Sometimes two weeks or more non stop. The days were nice though but would seldom rise above 10. Snow about an hour's drive away 4 months of the year. An hours drive from the coast.

Its just silly. I usually stop buying products from these kind of PC companies, so Bega cheese here i come.
How about everyone with a surname that may offend someone else, like black or white, must change their names

@Backlit

What happened to your Brakelite2 account?
Lol. Logged off, tried to sign in on new device, but password didn't work. Tried for a couple of weeks, whatever password and whatever combination, nada. The email system doesn't work, so the only way to communicate again with the forum in any way is by opening another account. Starting again. So, here I am under my third guise.
