Higher-than-recommended doses of vitamin D linked to lower risk of atrial fibrillation
Taking higher-than-recommended doses of vitamin D for five years reduced the risk of atrial fibrillation in older men and women, according to a new study from the University of Eastern Finland.www.news-medical.net
Yes you must do a lot of research and find advisors with your condition before taking anything.i Best not start taking any vitamin K at the moment , as I’m taking these tablets that lower the serum calcium in the blood.
I very much appreciate all the information though.
Am I right in thinking that you too suffer with AF?View attachment 57344
Ok Hepzibah, I will do that...thank you ..I’ve got all that information that you posted to refer back to....many, many thanks...Yes you must do a lot of research and find advisors with your condition before taking anything.
No I do not have AF. Everything else but ...lol
Thanks for reaching out. Thanks for that information.
I am under an endocrinologist...my medication was a right mess, I’m also under my cardiologist after having open heart surgery..
I stopped taking vitamin D months ago, over 1,000 mg it was, I’d been on it for over 6 years. it contained calcium...I’m hoping that the docs have finally got my meds right, I started taking a new one called cinacalcet , it lowers serum calcium in the blood, mine was seriously high and I was nearly admitted into hospital because of it...plus to much calcium in the blood can trigger AF ..
Another thing that triggers AF is being dehydrated...I was extremely dehydrated...I’ve started drinking 2 litres of water a day, cutting out all beverages...I have to go back to hospital next week for a blood test..
I had a terrible episode of AF last Tuesday evening...anyway..since being on this medication and drinking 2 litre of water a day I’ve had no fits of AF ..Praise God..please pray I continue on his road..
What a lovely post, very heart warming, thank you so much, Bob.Thanks for reaching out.
May God comfort you, strengthen you, sustain you in your painful trials. May He inspire your physicians to find the right health care for your particular situation. And may God help you find the best health care.
Amen.
I don't have AF.Thanks for that information.

Thank you Sis...appreciate your help.xI don't have AF.
@Hepzibah is correct about the vitamin K. (I understand you cannot take it right now.)
Apparently vitamin K helps the calcium to get pushed into the bones instead of going into your soft tissues like heart muscle. See YouTube videos by Dr. Berg about this.
Sorry to say but most doctors do not advise people about such things....they only treat you after you get ill.
Have to charge my tablet or I would look a video up for you. Dr. Berg also says magnesium is needed...some people are deficient.
I agree about Dr Berg and think highly of him.I don't have AF.

Look in the PDR,Physicians Desk Reference, and locate all medications you've been prescribed. Thanks for that information.

Sorry to hear this news from you RJ. I truly hope you can find the right people to balance or rid your body of the suspect problem chemicals, or whatever source, natural or synthesized, for a healthy life. I hope your heart surgery was also a positive success for you. Thanks for that information.

One needs to listen to their body or system, too.Look in the PDR,Physicians Desk Reference, and locate all medications you've been prescribed.
There are details to be found there that doctors may not share when they've handed you a prescription.
I knew a woman who was prescribed a medication that she took for 10 years. It was now driving her nerves out of control. Her doctor told her he couldn't take her off the stuff now because if he did she'd convulse to death.
We looked up this medication in the PDR. Sure enough there it was under the long term side effects header.
That was a little detail her doctor failed to mention before putting her on the stuff.
Re: Your bones. One needs to listen to their body or system, too.
When I first went on thyroid medication (slightly underactive), I didn't feel right. So then my doctor said take it once a week. Ended up taking it twice a week which worked.
When I tried taking it just a little more often, I got highly nervous!!!! It was terrible. My doctor said the med can cause nervousness in some people. Also, recently heard on the news, it can affect the bones badly!
So I'm glad I take the lowest dose and only twice weekly. Hopefully my bones will be ok.
Hopefully my bones are ok because I have been taking the lowest dose and sometimes I skip three nights, sometimes I skip two nights.Re: Your bones.
Look into a supplement known as, Hydroxyapatite. You'll find it in health food stores or online of course.
It's usually derived from calf bone matrix.
How does hydroxyapatite promote bone growth?
Hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, HA), as one of the main components of natural bone, can increase the concentration of local Ca2+, which can activate the proliferation of osteoblasts and promote the growth and differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC)"

Hydroxyapatite Based Materials for Bone Tissue Engineering: A Brief and Comprehensive Introduction
Hydroxyapatite (HA) is widely used in bone tissue engineering for its bioactivity and biocompatibility, and a growing number of researchers are exploring ways to improve the physical properties and biological functions of hydroxyapatite. Up to now, HA has been used as inorganic building blocks...www.mdpi.com
