I'm happy to answer questions. I'm also happy to point your to resources. And if you want to go check things out yourself (first hand research!) then you're totally welcome to attend LDS Christians services, zero need to pretend to be a member or anything else.

And hey "I don't know, and I'm ok with that cause I don't have the energy to check it out right now" is also a totally legit answer. I get that-- I accidentally fell asleep way early last night and was out for 10 hours. Life can be so exhausting.

Jane, I appreciate that. It's really stupid how people will condemn other people - even if they are from another sect of "religion." I based that on hinduism, budism, muslim, mormonism, greek orthodox, Catholic, etc... Cause to condemn a whole thing, as though every single one of them, are not at least trying to look to Yahweh, and really seek him out, even if they are unsure, or do not even know who he is, but they just look to the one who they believe created them, is enough I believe to have a new and changed heart, being given the holy spirit from Yahweh, without even knowing the name of "Jesus.." Or even having misinformation concerning him, or his make up, or God and his make up. I believe what is important over all is to love God, Yahweh, first, and to love our neighbor as our self. We can share and sit reading the bible with each other, and you may think about things differently than myself, but its okay... for me, or for you even to no correct me, and allow the freedom for a person to choose what they are gonna believe concerning the bible that all people just about have access to pick up and read today. If they dont, they have the expanse of the universe itself to consider you know?

It's really silly to mock people for their beliefs, they are allowed to choose, and Yahweh allows them. Now whether or not a heart is aligned with him or not, one can only really tell by the fruits of a person, and if the holy spirit is coming through or not, sometimes our flesh itself will hook us up, and not everyone has been yet been made spiritually alive, in the resurrection of Jesus, but that doesn't mean we condemn those who are yet to be risen again with Christ either...

God does love everyone... he doesn't play favorites, as some may think he does... because he sent his Son, which was a showing of his Love, and his Son gave his life for all people, not just some, you know what I am saying?

In consideration of these things, there is only a few times of Yeshua which come to my mind where he was the hardest on anyone. It was always on the Pharisees whos heart was far from God, and made the temple into a den of thieves... That even today, can be true in some regards if you go to a church, no matter what type of church, be careful in who you listen to when they are teaching.

Anything that leads to disdaining other people, as though they are just dirt and lower than oneself because of a supposed relationship with God, and that you are to treat others with contempt, is far removed from the Gospel narrative, and the Holy Spirit of God, therefore there should be caution always taken when listen to anyone speak or teach about the bible, and to always go and research as Jane had said, for oneself.

And nope: LDS Christians don't believe in some terrible fate for ex-believers. Nor any eternal torture place like mainstream Christians do. Rather, LDS Christians have different view of the afterlife, wherein people do have the opportunity to repent after death, and >99.999% of folks spend eternity in beyond mind-boggling happiness.

Addressing first part first: I don’t require threats of torture to love Christ and to choose to follow Him- that I do out of love. And I see His fruits in my life every day. It’s a joy that I celebrate and want everyone else to also share in today. Hence Christ urging that.

On the contrary, sin brings pain in short term and long term. Sin is something that should be steered away from. Hence also Christ urging that.

A lot of that had to with escaping the wrath of God, upon the nation which went up in flames, and suffered under plagues in Ad 70. If you go back in the gospel. If I remember correctly, not sure who he said this directly to, but its documented where John the Baptist exclaimed:
Matthew 3:7 (there may be more in the other gospels.)
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said unto them, “O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?"

Of course that was changed in the Mormon church from bread and wine to bread and water.

Also,they believe thatthe Bible is Gods word provided that it is translated correctly. The Bible goes back a long way--there are evidences of its writings. But the Book of Mormon? Nope--nothing. Just taking a guy's word for it.

They also have an Aaronic priesthood. The Aaronic preisthood was done away with by Jesus death. He is our High Priest--there is no need for an Aaronic priesthood. priesthood.
The Bible says 1Peter 2:9 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light." All of us who are saved through Christ are priests.

Cassandra, I truthfully stated that I don't believe in Consubstantiality, the idea that the Son and Father are one through essence. Consubstantiality - Wikipedia

You are thinking of transubstantiation, the idea that the Lord's Supper literally becomes blood and flesh. It's true that LDS Christians and a lot of Protestant don't believe this idea, but I wasn't talking about that.

Vast majority of the hate levied at LDS Christians is based on false “facts” as we’ve seen many of here, or just pure ignorant tribalism.


Personally, I believe that the two great commandments are a call to play sh past such tribalism, and instead truly see and love our neighbors. Including those whom don’t agree with us on every point or we find to be sinful.
