Hi there,

So this is just a short thread OP: I am concerned about advertising. It always seems to be exactly what I am interested in. I don't even type this stuff in, like "I like plant protein" and yet here it is: 'would you like plant protein?' and I am interested in plant protein! I am interested, just not now! I feel like I am having my brain scanned, or something. All this Big Data, is making me a target...

...Is anyone else getting this problem? Do you baulk at how well your computer knows you?

Sometimes there are some very beneficial advertisements out there, sometimes there is not. Having no ad blocker on my computer, and ads coming on my phone, most of the time its just best to ignore them for me personally. One day, I would like to get the phone paid off and get it disconnected, perhaps... even the internet. Might be another year or so, but that would help me in some ways, I think anyway...

I'm wondering why I got targeted for "The Do's and Don't's of Prostate Massage". Ick.

That reminds me of the guy that.... was in the waiting room and the nurse took him to the room where they were going to prepare him for a colonoscopy which he thought was weird because he was at the dentist!

Dump all your cookies and browsing history run in private browsing its how they know.If your logged into a google account log out they only want you there so their AI can figure out what you will buy.I use as Ad blocker and Ublock origin with no-script installed to shut script down if needed.I dump everything when I close my browser.It can cause hesitation I get that here it doesn't know what add to pop up in front of me and hangs on my phone for a few seconds.
It is manipulation to get you to buy something and its everywhere you look now.
YouTube allows the ad blocker they could shut it down but have decided not to.

They use bait script to see if your using a ad-blocker now shutting it down on some sites they use a common file that will trigger the ad-blocker exposing it.Same thing the ad blocking program does. Why do they battle me at all obviously I don't want the ads and will never click on one its a wasted effort on their part but they do it anyway.That's how well advertising works.

With TicTok that's what they want the Ad revenue coming to American billionaires not Chinese.Who ever buys TicTok gets the Ad revenues.Its always about money.TicTok is a huge advertising platform that can generate massive amounts of money if they have the viewers.

YouTube's record Q4 ad sales of $10.473 billion at the end of 2024 last quarter.

At the gas pump they now want to show commercials while you gas up on the screen of the pump - how far will they go?

A VPN can stop them from snooping into your PC or phone but it still leaves all the cookies with all your browsing history that they can access and its even worse if your logged into a Google account or Facebook who's only goal is to get you to click on a ad.
