True, all who want saving will be saved - the rest Eccl 9:5

For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten.

Sad but true.
So you don't believe that Jesus continues to search for the lost sheep until he finds them?

As I said, one has to literally ignore a mountain of scripture to believe in eternal damnation and that's exactly what most do.
It's either eternal life or eternal death - Scripture teaches no other options.

Absolutely he does but "He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” Matt 15:24

You dont believe he was sent to save the whole house do you?

You must read with more care Patrick!

Obviously this verse is a contradiction to the theology of eternal damnation.

Lamentations 3:31 For the Lord will not cast off forever

It's figurative language to people being rejected at the judgement. Their end is certain!
So is this figurative too?

Revelation 14:11 ESV

And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

Obviously, these verses were incorrectly written. Someone needs to amend these verses to say that only those who CHOOSE to follow Jesus will be "made alive" or will "see salvation".

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

Luke 3:6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God

Philippians 2:10-11 esv
so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This verse also needs to be amended to say "...to the glory of God the Father who then throws the bad people into the Lake of Fire to be tortured FOREVER".

This verse also needs to amended to include "you WILL BE SAVED but only if you confess while alive because after death it's too late and you'll be tortured FOREVER because God is love, God is just, God is merciful! Amen!"

Romans 10:9 esv
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

1 John 2:2 ESV He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

That's obviously another false teaching. It too needs to be amended to say "...sins of the whole world but ONLY if you believe in Jesus, otherwise they are damned FOREVER to ETERNAL torture".

...those who are convinced they require forgiveness and saving yeah?

When he returns what will he be doing?

And when he is come, he will reprove (convince) the world of (their) sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: John 16:8

Why do this if as you say he has already done so for all mankind.

Maybe this verse is poorly translated also.

It's clear your understanding of the symbol being the lake of fire is not in accordance with Scripture.

True though

" For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"

Not all!....whoever = free will!

1 John 2:1-6
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

The verse needs to be amended to say "He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world, meaning only Israel and only those who believe in Jesus while still alive because after death it's too late to go to Jesus and he will have you tortured day and night, forever, and ever! Amen!"

True from Jew & Gentile as the record teaches BUT not all Jews and not all Gentiles only those who respond to the calling.

Do you like verse 5?

but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected.

Its a Big word, BUT.

Whoever is bigger!
