1.5
[in accordance with His unconditional, principle-based love,]
He also pre-designed/predestined us to be adopted into his family
this adoption is ours by virtue of our association with Jesus Christ,
and all this issued forth in accordance with the pleasure God derived from
His sovereign will, purpose, and design

1.6
which ultimately will result in our praise (reverential awe) of his glorious grace,
in/by which He graced us
(all of this was) freely given to us by virtue of our position IN GOD’S BELOVED (Son)

1.7
Now keep in mind that even now,
by virtue of our permanent position IN HIM,
we have and retain possession of this long-awaited redemption,
made possible by the work of Christ upon the cross (His death),

the result of which work (death) means that the debt we incurred,
the debt related to our trespasses (specific violations of God’s will),
has been cancelled, paid in full, forever removed as a barrier to
a relationship with God,
all of this is in accordance with the overwhelming magnitude (richness) of his grace

1.8
and this grace was directed toward us in over-abundance as it were,
by having overwhelmed us with divine provisions
which over-abounded toward us in areas of spiritual wisdom and understanding (to name a few)

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the one having blessed us with every [blessing spiritual] in the heavenlies in Christ;
Eph 1:4 as he chose us in him before the founding of the world, for us to be holy and unblemished before him in love.
Eph 1:5 Having predefined us for adoption through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good-pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 in high praise of the glory of his favor, in which he showed favor on us by the one being loved;
Eph 1:7 by whom we have the release by ransom through his blood, the release of transgressions, according to the riches of his favor,
Eph 1:8 which he abounded in us in all wisdom and intelligence,
Eph 1:9 having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good-pleasure, which he purposed in him,
Eph 1:10 for administration of the fullness of the times, recapitulating all things in the Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, in himself.
Eph 1:11 In whom also we were chosen by lot, being predefined according to the intention of the one [all things operating] according to the counsel of his will,
Eph 1:12 for us to be in high praise of his glory, of the ones hoping earlier in the Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom also you, having heard the word of the truth the good news of your deliverance -- in whom also having trusted, you were sealed by the spirit of the promise in the holy;
Eph 1:14 who is the deposit of our inheritance, in a release by ransom of the procurement in high praise of his glory.

ABP.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who through Christ has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm.
Eph 1:4 Through Him He picked us out before the creation of the world, to be consecrated and above reproach in His sight in love.
Eph 1:5 He foreordained us to become His sons by adoption through Christ Jesus, to carry out the happy choice of His will,
Eph 1:6 so that we might praise the splendid favor which He has shown us in His beloved Son.
Eph 1:7 It is through union with Him that we have redemption by His blood and the forgiveness of our shortcomings, in accordance with the generosity of His unmerited favor
Eph 1:8 which He lavished upon us. Through perfect wisdom and spiritual insight
Eph 1:9 He has made known to us the secret of His will, which is in accordance with His purpose which He planned in Christ,
Eph 1:10 so that, at the coming of the climax of the ages, everything in heaven and on earth should be unified through Christ,
Eph 1:11 in union with whom we were made God's portion, since we had been foreordained in accordance with the purpose of Him who in everything carries out the plan of His will,
Eph 1:12 that we who had first put our hope in Christ might praise His glory.
Eph 1:13 You too, as you have heard the message of the truth, the good news that means your salvation, and as you have trusted in Him too, have been stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit,
Eph 1:14 who is the first installment of our inheritance, so that we may finally come into full possession of the prize of redemption, and praise His glory for it.

God created everything and everyone EXACTLY as He pleased. Of course it's all predestined!

Let me ask this. Why are you doing this? If you are seeking to create a new paraphrase version of Ephesians, why not just go to a Christian publisher?

I learn best by researching each word/phrase/verse and putting it into a paraphrase. I do this for my own study. not interested in publishing anything.

If this is for your own study, then why are you publishing it here?

I am looking for comments and criticisms about these paraphrases. Why are you concerned with my posting these paraphrases here?
I am concerned where it may end. Nearly all who have in the past who have sought to write their own commentaries and paraphrasing of Scripture have let this go to their heads and gone offtrack with God. I would spare you from this rocky road. It doesn't mean you will, but most do.

Thanks for your concern. I will be just fine.
