Who (Spirit in his sealing ministry) is the initial release of this inheritance,
a down payment, as it were, denoting God’s ownership (and future intention),
and this initial release or first installment of the Holy Spirit remains ours until the long-awaited redemption of His property is at last complete,
which will again result in our praise of His glory.
1.15
Let me now mention this:
from the time I began hearing various reports
(as well as because of these reports)
about your faith-faithfulness in the Lord Jesus,
and your love that is being demonstrated toward all the saints,
1:16 I have not ceased expressing my gratitude for all of you,
by making mention of you during my times of prayer,
1:17 and that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which is to say the glorious Father, (the Father who is the source of “glory”)
would give to all of you spiritual wisdom and enlightenment
in your pursuit of an intimate knowledge (worship) of him,
