“[God will] bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”—REVELATION 11:18.

WHAT DO THE FACTS SHOW? According to some experts, 6.5 million tons of litter enter the world’s oceans each year. An estimated 50 percent of that litter is plastic that will drift for hundreds of years before it degrades. Besides polluting the earth, humans are depleting its natural resources at an alarming rate. Studies show that the earth needs one year and five months to regenerate what humans consume in a year. “If population and consumption trends continue, we will need the equivalent of two Earths by 2035,” reports the Australian newspaper Sydney Morning Herald.

WHAT IS A COMMON OBJECTION? Humans are resourceful. We can reverse these problems and save the earth.

IS THAT OBJECTION VALID? Many hardworking individuals and groups have raised awareness of environmental issues. Yet, the earth continues to be polluted on a grand scale.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Is there a need for God to intervene and save our planet from being ruined—just as he has promised to do?

Ah, Robert, another grasping at straws to support your theory as to this supposed sign.

Let us consider the context of the passage that you referenced in the OP.

Rev. 11:15-19: - Seventh Trumpet: The Kingdom Proclaimed

15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!" 16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:

"We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty,
The One who is and who was and who is to come,
Because You have taken Your great power and reigned
.
18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come,
And the time of the dead, that they should be judged,
And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints,
And those who fear Your name, small and great,
And should destroy those who destroy the earth.
"

19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake/turmoil, and great hail.
NKJV

What is being said in the last line of verse 18 above?

I would paraphrase this line in this manner: -

And cause to perish, those who are perverting/corrupting the {fertile} soil.

I fear that you have not allowed your laughing matter to contemplate your navel, for the necessary time to bring God's understanding to the above passage.

You have grasped at Satan's present day lies that he is using for preparation of his Good and faithful servant who will be doing his bidding while he, Satan, is locked up in the Bottomless pit.

To claim that environmental issues of our day are a sign of the End Times as you are suggesting, based on your understanding of one line from Rev. 11:18, only demonstrates your lack of understanding.

Environmental pollution, such as plastics in the ocean is only a manifestation of the underlying primary cause that we are faced with at this present time.

The drum you are beating sounds a little off key to the rest of the noise being generated at present.

Also your attempt to make a distant future event relevant to our present time does not help your cause or actual confirm what you are claiming.

Shalom

God promises to destroy the earth by fire and for a new heavens and earth to exist.

What’s to come is one fourth of the world burned up during the tribulation.

Promises 1/3 of sea life will die during the tribulation.

Promises 1/4 of mankind will die from plagues during the tribulation.

Promises to completely destroy the earth by fire after the tribulation.,

The vast majority of humans still existing after the tribulation will be destroyed Curt, but the earth itself was not a defective creation, and the Bible point blank states it will never be destroyed. Ecc 1:4 Since the Bible would never contradict itself, and especially on such a serious matter, how can we harmonize the passage that many take as to the destruction of the earth by fire.

Jesus compared the upcoming destruction to Noah's day, and therefore we can gain insight by looking into that destruction, as you observed the earth was not destroyed, what was? The corrupted mankind of the day. Same in the upcoming battle, in which the Bible clearly points to survivors coming out of the great tribulation Rev 7:14 The Bible speaks of a new heavens and earth, and we teach it means a cleansing. We believe the heavens is already new, why? Because the war in heaven has happened and satan was cast to the earth, thus ushering the time period that we are in today. Soon satan will be bound for a millennium, but the new earth will not be yet. The Kingdom we pray for will come after satan is bound, and Jesus will reign over that Kingdom for a thousand years, but then when we have all progressed to a state of perfection, equal to Adam, then satan will be released for a short time, and once again will take many with him. After his and those who side with him are destroyed, Jesus will return to heaven and subject himself to Jehovah, and it is at that point that the New Earth will be established sir.
(1 Corinthians 15:24-28) . . .the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. 25 For he must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet. 26 And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing. 27 For God “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that this does not include the One who subjected all things to him. 28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.

I certainly know this is a lot to take in Curt, and quite likely you may not understand that, but you may have questioned what Jesus meant when he quoted Psalms 37 at Mat 5:5. Why not read the easily understood account particularly vs 9-11, and 29. And when Jesus hands the Kingdom back take note of the prophecy given at Rev 21:3,4 and realize this is happening on the earth, because death being gone is exclusive to the earth sir, no one in heaven has died ever. Please pray about it, and if you sincerely want to know, Jehovah will reveal it to you.

You’re not saying anything I haven’t said in the past.

You’re (JWs) not the only ones to figure out that the earth was destroyed by water, but it’s the same physical planet, thus being destroyed by fire with a new earth appearing, doesn’t mean it will be a different planet, but the same one restored to edenic condition- because it’s clear that there will continue to be nations of people on earth who are not adopted children of God, but are called heathen in Zechariah 14.

Glad you are aware of that Curt. There may be over 25,000 different sects claiming Christianity, but even in that, I think it would be virtually impossible to have absolutely not 1 teaching that is the same.
