We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!
Thank you Aunty Jane, Have you looked at Our Faith And Belief Sight?Interesting subject….knowing the truth is not that easy…..can we even “handle the truth”?
1) Does truth “evolve”? The truth does not change.…new facts or facets of the truth can be revealed over time, but fundamentally it cannot change.
God is truth……”Jesus is the way the truth and the life”…so how does one get to know the truth?
We listen to Jesus….but we cannot sit on our own without the Scriptures, which is the only way we can get to know God.
2) God’s word is truth. Just do what God tells us to do, without altering things to suit ourselves.
Identify the things in our faith that have clear biblical support, and reject what is based on supposition or assumption…..to prop up something that was introduced later.
3) The entire Bible is the word of God….of course. Unless we know what the entirety of Scripture teaches, we will never know the truth that Jesus taught. He used the Hebrew Scriptures exclusively. (2 Tim 3:16-17)
4) The early church was Jewish and therefore had a Jewish perspective. All the Bible writers were Jewish.
The early church altered the Greek Scriptures to suit what the Roman church taught, which was a fusion of weakened Christianity with Roman sun worship.
5) The Gentiles met in synagogues. Yes they did at first, but opposition from the Jews was mounting and they were forced to meet elsewhere as Paul stated In Acts 19:8-10.
What beliefs and practices have been carried over from first century Jewish practices?
ACTS 15:20-21 shows that the Gentiles were the main recipients of this directive. Jews already observed all those things, but it was because of the circumcision issue that this directive was made necessary…….but no mention is made of observing the Sabbath for gentiles. They did not have to convert to Judaism to become Christ’s disciples, and so were not under Jewish law.
Hi Walter And Debbie, I just had a brief look at the article on being “born again” and I have studied this subject quite extensively.Thank you Aunty Jane, Have you looked at Our Faith And Belief Sight?
Good morning Aunty Jane, And thank you Sister.Hi Walter And Debbie, I just had a brief look at the article on being “born again” and I have studied this subject quite extensively.
When Jesus first said those words “you must be born again”, Nicodemus wondered what they meant, even as many people since then have wondered the same thing. Even here on these boards are those who claim to be “born again” arguing and disagreeing with the others making the same claim. What are we to think?
One of the things that many hear preached in sermons is….”You can go to church every Sunday, morning and night, and attend every revival service, but unless you have spiritual rebirth you will go straight to hell!”… and they worry if they have not had some kind of revelation or spiritual experience.
And an evangelistic tract that I read once, said : “If you have never been ‘born again’ you are still in your sins and a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ!”
What does it mean to be ”born again” if those who claim that they have, cannot agree on what it is exactly? Is being “born again” imperative to gaining everlasting life, as so many insist? Are those who aren’t “born again” doomed to hell? Is it all predestined?
After much study and research to simplify it all in my own mind, and to fit it into “the big picture”, or the Bible’s overarching theme, I have come to a different conclusion….one that is shared by all of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The Bible speaks about two distinctly different destinies for those of humankind gaining salvation. And this is in line with the two different resurrections that the Bible also speaks about….
God’s Word explicitly teaches that only a very limited number of mankind will ever gain life in the heavens as Christ’s Kingdom heirs or associate rulers. These are mentioned in Rev 20:6…
”Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and they will rule as kings with him for the 1,000 years.”
Kings need subjects to rule, and priests need those for whom to perform their priestly duties, which includes guidance in worship and intercession for sinners. These ones, of necessity have to be “born again” because “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom”. Those who experience the “first resurrection” must be born again in a new spiritual body to enable them to dwell in the presence of God, along with their King.
All others gaining salvation will receive everlasting life on earth as subjects of Christ the King, and the “joint -heirs” of his heavenly kingdom. (Romans 8:15-17)
So from my perspective, as one who is not chosen for rulership with Jesus in heaven, (and hence, not “born again”) I look forward to life on earth as a subject of the best government that humans have ever had on this planet, which has been ruled from the beginning by satan and those he would lure into his web of deceit. (1 John 5:19)
Corrupt governments under the devil’s influence have never succeeded in bringing about peace and security for their subjects…..and tragedy seems to be around every corner.
We are seeing Bible prophesy being fulfilled as we speak….as the day for judgment looms ever closer.
So when the separation of the “sheep from the goats“ takes place, on what basis is the judgment made?
Jesus tells us….Matt 25:31-34….
”When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will put the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right: ‘Come, you who have been blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the founding of the world.”
What have the “sheep” done that the “goats” have not?
Jesus continues….
”For I became hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you received me hospitably; 36 naked and you clothed me. I fell sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you visited me.’ 37 Then the righteous ones will answer him with the words: ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and receive you hospitably, or naked and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 In reply the King will say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”
Conversely, the opposite was true of the “goats”. They failed to render assistance to Christ’s “brothers” and therefore Jesus does not consider them worthy to be called his disciples….they couldn’t care less.
There are three separate groups here…..there are Christ’s “brothers”….and there are those who support them…..and there are those who who fail to support them.
Christ’s “brothers” are also God’s adopted “sons”. These alone will go to heaven….to inherit something that the “sheep” will be the beneficiaries of….the loving rule of God’s kingdom, where his will is “done on earth as it is in heaven”. This will take us all back to the beginning, and reinstate God’s first purpose for mankind….which originally never involved any human going to heaven.
We are designed for the earth and the earth is designed for us. God made angels to live in heaven.
Being “born again” is therefore not imperative for everlasting life, but imperative for those who will put on immortality as spirit beings in heaven.
Those who remain on earth will go back to God’s original purpose for mankind here on this lovingly prepared planet, bringing us back to what God first intended for the human race…..everlasting life in paradise on earth. I am looking forward to that.
It‘s not far away now…..the world is falling apart….natural and unnatural disasters are sweeping the planet, taking a massive toll on life and property…..now, the lies from those who control our lives are being exposed, as God said they would.
We can trust in God at a time when we cannot trust in man.
Without watching it, what's this about?Friday 3-28-25 6th. Day Of The Weekly Cycle, Adar 27 5785/5989 8th. Spring Day
