And the truth shall set you free...

Paul states: he that bares the sword is a minister/servant of God to execute wrath upon those that evil. What do you suppose Paul meant by executing wrath with a sword: the soldiers are cutting peoples bread with it? You think it not evil/hurtful to execute a person for their sins? Didn't Jesus...

And the truth shall set you free...

I wish I could say I have found a denomination that I could fully support. We are all individuals and Christ is suppose to be our Leader, not a group of men with a creed. Sadly, I have found major issues with most denominations, but if I had to chose one it might be the mennonites, as they...

And the truth shall set you free...

1 Samuel 8 verse 7 quotes God as stating: they have rejected me, that I should not reign/rule over them. Now if Kings were ministers of God, then God would be ruling over them, as it is with those who are subjects of Christ. In verse 18 we read: 18And ye shall cry out in that day because...

And the truth shall set you free...

Paul states: No, I am speaking generally about churches and yes, Jesus's teaching are all that I base my faith upon.

    Is true Christianity a religion?

One of us is confused... Jesus clearly stated in John 12: 46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. Again in John 3 we read: And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because...

And the truth shall set you free...

Job, you want so bad to justify Paul and thus your beliefs, that you will mishandle all the evidence that is clearly before you. What will you do with these words from Daniel 9? 6Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our...

And the truth shall set you free...

What about one who teaches it is okay to kill with the sword, when Jesus condemns such behaviour, what will happen to them?

And the truth shall set you free...

You mean like making Judas one of the 12? Maybe Paul serves another purpose, like concealing the true message; have you not read in Proverbs 25 verse 2: It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. As I showed already, Paul was rejected by all...

And the truth shall set you free...

Actually, people followed Jesus and his gospel before either the bible, or Paul. I don't think you realize the heresy you embrace, by stating: "Any setting up of the gospels over and above the rest is not a Christian belief." The teachings of Christ, found in the gospels, is the bases of...

And the truth shall set you free...

A council of men (at the council of Carthage) put the bible together, not God. Paul had a large following of those men and we are looking at history through the eyes of those men that put the bible together. Let's not forget the results of that history, with the many many sins of the...

May I suggest that the problem exists because Jesus's teachings have not been made the primary focus of our churches. If all we had was the teachings of Christ, there would be no confusion. Again to reiterate Jesus's words: "if you abide in my words you shall know the truth".

    What is our commision?

Don't miss the point: the New Covenant/Contract is the teachings of Christ, spoken by him after the baptism of and by John.

    What is our commision?

Actually sword, the New Covenant/Contract starts once Jesus is baptized by John. Just as Moses spoke the words of the Old Covenant and then sacrificed blood to seal that covenant, so also Christ spoke the terms of the New Covenant and sacrificed himself: sealing the New one. And herein lies the...

And the truth shall set you free...

If Jesus is our King/Governor/Ruler and he tells us (all of mankind) to seek forgiveness from God, as we forgive those who trespass against us and I come along and say, "it is okay for me to kill those who don't obey my rule, how does that differ from Paul saying it? Wait, I forgot to add: "I am...

Do you not deal with any problem by first understanding it and theorizing how to change it? Close your eyes and continue to live in the darkness you love.

And the truth shall set you free...

You want justice for your sins or forgiveness?

And the truth shall set you free...

Arguing both sides if the argument doesn't answer anything, the simple truth is that there is no way to reconcile Paul's words with those whom Paul contradicts.

The book I read was Leo Tolstoy's "what then must we do". Tolstoy showed how governments were evil, but seeing I knew Paul wrote what he did, I could not accept Tolstoy's premise: it took me a year; once I saw Tolstoy was right and Paul was wrong, I started to research others who came to the...
