    Agnostic at heart

There's no tangible or objective evidence to prove the existence of God, but its not so much about convincing, as it is about recognizing the truth... The truth is in the message. But there is substantive evidence, we have the testimony of witnesses, archeological, historical, and prophetic...

    I am done

That seems a little harsh....... "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned" (Luke 6:37). People who believe in Christ are not false believers just because they don't interpret things as you do.. And its important to remember that Christ is the Truth (John...

    My stomach hurts

I doubt its the debates that upset your stomach? Prolonged debating would more likely give you a headache o_O Everyone believes that OSAS applies to those who keep the faith, because God does not renege on His promise.. But some believe that you can fall away, lose faith, have a change of...

    A most terrifying experience

I reckon so.. In fact, sometimes you need to empathize prior to offering correction.. And depending on the person, correction could be a seldom necessity. But speaking for myself, I find that I usually require constant correction since 75% of my decisions are usually wrong :)

    A most terrifying experience

Yes, he came to bring salvation to all who would receive and believe him. My point was simply that empathizing with someone isn't always helpful if what that person says, thinks, or does, is wrong. "For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth" (Proverbs 3:12, Hebrews 12:6). Telling a person what they...

    A most terrifying experience

Not always.. Was he empathizing with the Pharisee's when he told them; "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own...

    A most terrifying experience

Sometimes reality over-rides empathy.. And I don't think empathy is falsely sharing a feeling that God is terrifying them.. jmo

Blotted out of The Book Of Life?

I'd say yes... Everyone sins, but a hypocrite says one thing and does another, they talk the talk but never walk the walk. OSAS leaves an individual accountable for nothing, its a new age license to sin. "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived...

Blotted out of The Book Of Life?

I agree, the osas doctrine is a man-made falsehood.. Your only saved if you keep believing, and your only saved if your not a hypocrite.

    CAN WE FALL AWAY ?

So your saying the Prodigals Son perished because his Father refused to take him back? There are lots of verses which imply that a person can return to the faith after backsliding. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all...

    CAN WE FALL AWAY ?

Anyone can lose faith and fall away, consider the Parable of the Sower; "They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away" (Luke 8:13). So obviously, anyone can lose faith, but...

    CAN WE FALL AWAY ?

I believe "YES" any Christian can fall away.. "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first" (2 Thessalonians 2:3). This would seem to indicate that some Christians can lose faith.. And speaking from personal experience, I was a devout...

    A most terrifying experience

Common side effects of Ambien include: dizziness. Other side effects include: hallucination. Semi joking here, but I don't think God answers prayer by molesting or scaring a person half to death?

    A most terrifying experience

Sounds like you may need to set some mouse traps? :) And I suspect that the "someone" standing next to your bed, was your ironing board?

Is wearing jewellery with the cross or crucifix a form of idolatry?

Imo, nothing wrong with wearing a crucifix necklace.. You don't worship a piece of jewelry, so its not idolatry. The significance of the cross is in what it represents, and Christ was no idol. So your not worshiping a false idol, but paying homage to the real deal.

    God is Good

Nothing negative about it, I was just pointing out that a person getting a lighter sentence for attempted murder may be goods news for his family, but the person who suffered his attack may perceive it as bad news. I hope your brother has repented and changed, I didn't mean to insinuate that he...

    God is Good

What we consider "good" is generally what works out best for us.. God is good, but the sinful things people do are evil. Your father and brother committed awful crimes, but I doubt that your brothers victim would consider his lighter sentence to be a "good" thing? jmo

How to know if we've passed the test

In the grand scheme of things, we've all flunked the test (save one). Perhaps we pass the test when we repent of flunking the test? Having faith that we have the unmerited favor of God even when we screw-up, is the only way to be an A student. But short of that, when we turn from sin, chose to...

    A most shocking response

Simply stated, I believe if you are a Christian, you are part of the many membered body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-14). He will gather His church unto himself (Mark 13:27). So every believer is part of the church, its not a denomination or building per se. Going to church doesn't make you a...
