    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

John 20:17 says that Thomas' God is the Father. Therefore, when Thomas said "my God" in John 20:28 why would that change? The word "prayer" doesn't appear there in the Greek. Calling out or speaking to someone isn't praying to them, whether they be the Son at God's right hand or otherwise...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Jesus and other men given authority by God to forgive sins: Matthew 9 6But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...” Then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your mat, and go home.” 7And the man got up and went home. 8When the crowds saw this...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Saying what someone will be called isn't the same thing as calling them that. Once again, Jesus was never called "mighty God" in the Bible. Nor was Jesus called the Everlasting Father. If you have the scripture showing otherwise, would love to see it. No one in the universe has found it...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Some translations of Isaiah 9:6 say the child would be "called" mighty God and then Jesus was never called that. Actually, Jesus went on to deny being God. Jesus also isn't the everlasting Father. If Jesus is the everlasting Father, then that would mean the Son is the Father and your theology of...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Me too.... if we can only figure out what the Scriptures are. The manuscripts don't even teach exactly the same things. lol so here we all are and no one really agrees with each other very often anymore. Personally, I think the Old Testament is the best place to begin, but to each their own I...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

I really feel like the Bible may be more corrupted than we can possibly know. So much has been lost to time and there is precedent for a deliberate alteration to Biblical manuscripts. Apparently, it's extremely easy to turn the word "he" into "god." It literally takes just adding a line because...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Where there are two mentions of the definitive God, the Father YHWH, and another god in the same context there is typically a distinction made in the Greek so it's clear one is God Almighty and the other isn't. This appears in John 1:1 and John 1:18 in some manuscripts. John 20:17 compared to...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Bottom line is you have nothing explicit about Jesus pre-existing his birth. Just theology, doctrine, belief, etc. There are no Old Testament examples of Jesus saying or doing anything. No. The "angel of the Lord" is demonstrably not YHWH. The angel of the Lord and the LORD are having a...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

YHWH and the three men are not the same person. Numbers 23:19 and Hosea 11:9 says God is not a man. Where do you see Jesus saying or doing anything there? I think you may be trying to say the "angel of the LORD" is God, but not according to Scripture. Isaiah 63 8For He said, “They are surely...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Not a denial, but a necessity to understand John 8:58 this way. Jesus, the Son of God, Messiah, or whichever name you prefer to call him is completely missing in action in the Old Testament, and before Abraham, saying or doing anything; that’s okay, too. If you feel or believe otherwise, please...

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

"I am" the English translation of the Greek words ego eimi. These words appear all over the New Testament and often depend on the context. When these words are used in context of humans, such as is the case in John 9:9, where a man said "ego eimi" the translators rendered this into English as "I...

    Most accurate modern translation?

1 Corinthians 15:47 doesn't contain the word Lord. 1 John 5:7 doesn't exist. It was added much later. 1 Timothy 3:16 doesn't have "God appeared in the flesh" in the earliest and best manuscripts. It's very misleading and I couldn't recommend the KJV for those reasons. The RV is much better.

    Most accurate modern translation?

They are issues because they are not contained in the best Greek manuscripts and were found to be later alterations.

    Most accurate modern translation?

These are probably some of the biggest issues I've seen in the KJV. There are a number of smaller, less important, issues as well. 1 Corinthians 15:47 1 John 5:7 1 Timothy 3:16

Nothing clearly says that. All that seems to say such have been proven false by context. Try it.

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Words have meaning. The Father is the Only True God. That means there are no other God's but Him. This is always the checkmate in every one of these debates.

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

" whether it be for or against the Trinitarian view. Included in this is the side mantra of "Jesus is not God" " Then people are not allowed to say Jesus is God either. There's a lot of that going on here.

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Oh I think the trinity debate is actually banned here anyway. Not allowed to exhaustively debunk it. We'll come back to that if they ever change the rules.

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

I'm just a Bible believer. Do you believe this..? John 17 3Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

    A Question for Jehovah's Witnesses

Are you a Roman Catholic? If you believe Jesus is God you're in the same boat as them.
