    The translator always tries to get back to what it mean to the original readers and hearers of the text!

    Proper translation would be to use what the term would have meant to those of that time receiving the passage in Acts!

    NO christian church or scholar or theologian ever had the translation as being perfect, as they reserved that just towards the inspired originals!

    The Lord Himself preserved to us essentially the Original texts in all of the various source texts we now can access in order to translate the Hebrew and Greek texts into English!

    There was NO need for any purification of the inspired books, as ALL of the 66 canon books were perfect when first penned down!

    dean Burgon was one of the best textual critics from the perspective iof the Kjvo though, as he was against the 1881 revision, but even he saw that the Kjv was neither perfect not inspired!

    The scriptures NEVER referenced any translation to come as being perfect nor inspired!

    NO need to have a perfect english translation, as all valid ones clearly give forth to us the essential christian doctrines!

    Dean Burgeon "attacked" the Kjv by your logic, as he defended the Kjv but also stated that there were many instances where both it and the TR needed to have obvious corrections, hundreds of them in fact!

    Good question, as there have been 1611.1769. 1873,1900 etc!
