Everyone who enters into Gods house goes first through Jesus.
After His death and resurrection, yes. And again, Jesus says, "no one comes to me unless the Father draws them". That means we are first spiritually drawn by His power (Word, inner and outer calling, people He sends, experiences and eventsnleading up to that moment) before we can make a decision.
But Lord we did this and that and the other in your name". Jesus says begone from me, I never knew you.
The famous verse in Matthew, often mistaken for a message to the Gentile world. The God of the Bible was foreign to them so they could not claim doing this or that in the Lord's name.
Matthew's gospel is clearly written for a Jewish Christian audience living within the immediate proximity of the homeland itself. Matthew's is the most Jewish of all the gospels.
MATTHEW opens with a geneology, pointing the Jews to their Messiah based on their history. Throughout their nation, Jewish Christians continued to meet on the Sabbath, but also met on the Lords day, more popular for the Gentiles.
These people pleading to Jesus _ at Judgment Day _ were the Jews living by the Law for all generations (not by faith) and those Jews since Jesus, who rejected Him as the Messiah. But of course now realize theor error and plead for mercy. These Jews claimed "works" in their attempts to keep the Law imperfectly, believing partially that the Lord would be merciful. Unfortunately throughout their lives til their deaths, they rejected Jesus as the their Messiah and now it is too late. Jesus, by saying, :I did not know you", means He did not have a relationship with them.
Adam was sentenced to death, and death he faced.
Physical death we all face. But I do believe Adam and Eve repented and from that time on, lived by faith. They were the parents, grand-parents, great grand parents of faithful people like Abel and Enoch who lived and died prior to Noah's flood. Noah had faith because it was passed down from Adam and certainly since God spoke to him.
You sir think you are chosen and therefore above judgment, or hell.
I am one of the elect.
"For whom He foreknew, He also
predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom He
predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified." Romans 8:29-30
When God speaks to the nations, or Kings, He warns them, allowing them to choose or face sever consequences including destruction, if he knew they weren't going to listen, why waste the words to warn them? Just destroy them...RIGHT?
God does not desire that any should perish. But to be fair on the eyes of all, the gospel message goes out to all.
Do notbget me wrong - I am not a Calvinist, but predestination is scriptural.
"
elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied." 1 Peter 1:2
