What's worse: Forcing evil on somebody or forcing good on somebody? Forcing good on people? What the??? Are you serious dear OP.

Yes, I am.

Do you know that believing oneself to be good is claiming you're equal to God. Could anyone be equal to God? Of course not! Unless you believed you're god, then that's a whole different matter. Even if God's goodness was imparted on you, it's still not your goodness. I don't need to use any Bible references here, because you accept no-one can be equal to a good God. So why do so many people miss this important rule of thumb. No one in the context of a good God can be good. Ever! I'll detract that last statement a bit, not like ever, more like while we exist imperfectly on the earth in this universe. So if no-one is as good as God; then what does that say about all the good we believe we do?

Ephesians 2
2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

The Bible speaks frequently and positively about good people, without asserting that they are equal to God.

P.S.

An example from today in the Bible reading plan I’m using this year:

”A good man will obtain favor from Yahweh. But he will condemn a man who devises evil.”

(Proverbs 12:2)

Consider reading Zig Ziglar.

“How are you?”

”Good,” comes the reply.

The stranger asked out of courtesy; the questioned replied out of courtesy. Both quickly go on about their business.

***

Rewind.

“How are you?”

”Better than good,“ comes the reply.

What? The stranger pauses. Will the conversation continue? Will the stranger ask the questioned to elaborate on his or her response? Maybe so, maybe not.

I’ve used this countless times and when a stranger asks me why I replied as I did, I tell him or her about Messiah Jesus and the gospel (Acts 8:12).

Your response is my fault, totally. I hate myself with a passion. Anyway, I started this thread, and I know exactly why.

That might be a little over the top. Maybe I should have said something like: Stop selling me your beliefs. Then just left it like that. You know it's all projection, it's me who wants to die. I know there's no hell, not that I believe there's no hell. Therefore death is something that's devoid from the fear of hell for me. So, anyway @Matthias you are now undead.
