While these saints are being killed in Israel and even after most of them are buried, half the people on this board will still be arguing when the tribulation will begin.

Daniel 11:33-35
“Wise leaders will give instruction to many, but these teachers will die by fire and sword, or they will be jailed and robbed.
During these persecutions, little help will arrive, and many who join them will not be sincere.
And some of the wise will fall victim to persecution. In this way, they will be refined and cleansed and made pure until the time of the end, for the appointed time is still to come.

After about all these Christians have been buried and the king of the south attacks the United States armed forces in Israel, half of the people here will be shouting for vengeance by the king of the north on all who dwell in the middle east not knowing that it is the time of great tribulation

Daniel 11
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

12 And at that time Michael the great prince shall stand up, that stands over the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of tribulation, such tribulation as has not been from the time that there was a nation on the earth until that time: at that time thy people shall be delivered, even every one that is written in the book

"therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many."

"there shall be a time of tribulation, such tribulation as has not been from the time that there was a nation on the earth until that time"

Again, same as the book of Daniel.

The tribulation of the saints in Israel is first.

Luke 21
12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

After this tribulation of the saints in israel ,the great tribulation begins.

Luke 21
10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Jesus goes on to talk about the great tribulation caused by nation coming against nation. This is the king of the north going forth with great fury to Innihilate many.

Luke 21

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Jesus Olivet discourse corresponds to Daniel 11 perfectly. And the same prophecies are also found in revelation. The king of the norths armed forces arriving in Israel is in revelation as well as when the king of he south attacks them overcoming them. Then the day of the Lord when the great tribulation takes place as well as the resurrection.
The abomination of desolation itself is described by John in a couple different chapters in revelation.

Again, first the tribulation of the saints in Israel.

Revelation 6
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

After the tribulation of the saints ,then the great tribulation begins when the king of the north goes forth in great fury to Innihilate many. This is when the US armed forces place the abomination that causes Jerusalem's desolation as well as the rest of the middle east as in Daniel 11:40-44.

Revelation 6
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Again, first the tribulation of the saints in Israel.
This tribulation of christians in Israel lasts 42 months.Starting soon after the daily sacrifice is abolished to the time of the abomination that causes desolation .

Mark 13
9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.

13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Then at the time of the end after the tribulation of the Christians in Israel, the great tribulation begins.A time of severe affliction.

Mark 13
14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.

19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days

And so is some of the wording in Luke 17 and some of Matthew 24 intensely similar. For example.

Luke 17:24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

Compare Luke 17:24 with the following in Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Compare Luke 17:26-27 with the following in Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Compare Luke 17:31 with the following in Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Compare Luke 17:35-36 with the following in Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

And finally, compare Luke 17:37 with the following in Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

The point then being this. Every single thing I brought up per Luke 17 is involving something recorded in Matthew 24:15 through Matthew 24:41. Which then means that everything recorded in Luke 17 undeniably proves that not one single single recorded in Matthew 24:15 through Matthew 24:41 is involving 70 AD. Yet some argue that this is only true of Matthew 24:23 through Matthew 24:41, and not Matthew 24:15 through Matthew 24:22 as well. Except I'm pretty certain that Luke 17:31 is also recorded in Matthew 24 in verses 17 and 18.

And that I'm pretty certain that Luke 17:33 alone, in light of Matthew 16:24-26 undeniably proves that Matthew 24:17-18 is not in regards to 70 AD. IOW, the concept in Luke 17:33 is discipleship and not falling away versus falling away, by comparing with Matthew 16:24-26. And since Luke 17:31 is also recorded in Matthew 24:17 and 18, it stands to reason then, that it too involves discipleship pertaining to not falling away vs falling away. And it's not like there is no such thing as falling away having to do with defiling a temple, a holy place. IOW, let's not pretend that 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 is not in our Bibles nor that it can't support that the holy place meant in Matthew 24:15 is meaning this temple meant in 2 Thessalonians 2:4..
Observing the Sabbath? Are we Christians Jews?

20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

See the way it is stated makes sense only for Jerusalem and Judea where the Sabbath is observed, not the whole world. In the times we live the Sabbath or any other day of the week is not shutting down anything, and in that godless future time before Christ returns there will be no day where society simply stops working to rest like a sabbath day was. On a sabbath it was against the Jewish law to move more than a little bit., No journey's allowed.

Also Matthew 24 Jesus tells people to flee to the mountains.

But later when Jesus talks about His returning, He tells them to look up, watch and wait, not flee anywhere.

What if where you are there are no mountains when He returns?
And what are you supposed to be watching out for?
The abomination of desolation?
All of this is specifically written for people in Judea. Maybe you can say for back in 70 AD and people in Judea today this applies, but not for me or you or anyone who have no day's journey to some mountain sanctuary. I am not going to hop on a plane and fly to Jerusalem to flee to the mountains there.

Now also consider a pre tribulation rapturist POV, IF the abomination of desolation is observable by a believer, at what point are we in the 'timeline'?
Obvious to me, the antichrist or man of sin, son of perdition, has sat himself down in the temple of God. So then there was no pre tribulation rapture was there? Satan's power has been stretched full on over the earth and his government is in power. And Christians are observing the abomination of desolation. They are still on the earth.

And there were 'elect believers' in AD 70.
Was the gospel preached in all the nations by 70 AD? Maybe, depends on how you define nations back then. Certainly not North or South America.
No where in the church letters are we told to flee anywhere to the mountains etc... before Christ's return.
The only thing that can fit is it applies to 70 AD and today's time, and this is specifically about Jerusalem.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

I know there were so far two times of abomination of desolation events.
Will there be a 3rd? Good question. Not yet as it has to do with defiling the temple of God by offering sacrifices to an idol, or another god being worshipped in a holy place of the Lord God. There cannot be any true temples made with stones of a holy place where God is anymore. Cause if true there is lot's of NT scriptures get broken. Saved people are the only true temple of God today, so if someone has departed from Christ, they had not been granted by God to come to Christ, and never had him living in them ever. Those who believe have Christ dwelling in them and they have been sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption of the purchased possession.

The FAKE believers, Christ tells them I never know you.

Matthew 7

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

John 6
34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

2 Thess 2
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of [a]Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of [b]sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits [c]as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

The above is not a genuine temple of God, it is a fake temple where this antichrist figure sits. And the one sitting is described is a being.
It speaks,

The beast commands an image of the beast be made and gives it the power of speech
And people worship the image of the beast as idol worshippers.

The Beast from the Earth

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.

14 And he deceives [f]those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has [g]the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.

****************************************

There is no longer any genuine temple of God made with hands where God dwells.
The style of scripture here is not proving there is.

True Christians refuse to worship the beast or his image and are killed. So none of them are the temple of God where the beast sits.
And since Christ says all these things good things of His elect having to do with eternal life and salvation, can't be any of them either.

My take is the unsaved people of that time, world, Jews are all of them deceived by Satan with a strong delusion sent on them by God, and they will call it the temple of God when in truth it is not. They love the lie and not the truth. Cause spiritually it cannot be the temple of God where God dwells. Satan and God do not dwell together ever. It is the only logical conclusion. And it is also known as the mystery of lawlessness. What is being described is the lie of that time that the unsaved, unbelievers of that time believe and follow.

When Christ returns, He destroys all in flaming fire. All these spiritually dead Satan worshippers, all these evil spirits and the earth with them and the only things saved are whoever of His people remain alive and the dead in Christ are raised first as He descends from Heaven.

Jesus tells his followers to look up.
They are to look for him.

Jesus says them in Judea will flee to the mountains when they see the abomination that causes desolation from their fields and rooftops.

This takes place on the day of the Lord when the Lord comes.

Zech 14
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

The saints are gathered to Christ at his coming.Them who have not learned to say "blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord"are not gathered to Christ but flee to the mountains to hide in dens. Then they will tell the mountains, fall on us .

Revelation 6
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

Luke 23:30
Then “’they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!"’

There is only one abomination of desolation placed in Jerusalem by the king of the norths armed forces according to both Daniel and Jesus.

What you know is,there have been interpretations of Daniels prophecy concerning the abomination of desolation. The first came from a man known as Jason of Cyrene who claimed Daniels prophecy was fulfilled in 167 BC.
There have been other more recent interpretations by other people but none of them including Jason were prophets sent by God.It would be wrong to except and teach these peoples interpretations as the word of God.

What if where you are there are no mountains when He returns?
What if the "mountains" are symbolic? What if this is an example of Revelation's symbolism being used prior to it's writing? What if Jesus is talking about the seven specific mountains from Revelation 13.
And what are you supposed to be watching out for?
Luke 17. Luke put Matthew 24's "Abomination" in his Chapter 17. What it is exactly. When you see those "days", flee to the mountains. Forget about your house, your car and what you will wear or how you will look. Seek God. God's people, those who are in Jesus, in Judah, turn to their religion. The duTillet Hebraic version of Matthew reads: H3063 יְהוּדָה (Yehudah) - Judah. Those who are in Judah, like Lion of the Tribe of.
The abomination of desolation?
The 1290 day one, spoken of by the Prophet Daniel.
All of this is specifically written for people in Judea. Maybe you can say for back in 70 AD and people in Judea today this applies, but not for me or you or anyone who have no day's journey to some mountain sanctuary. I disagree. I know the various Preterist style people will accuse me of newspaper exegesis, but I wouldn't recommend hoping on a plane right now.

As passengers flee via the wing. On the wing of abominations. When knowledge has already been increased, the time to travel to and fro has ended. No need to flee via the wing. It can be done through thought. Like in my mind I'm going to Carolina. When you see the Abomination, there's not much time. God's People, those who are in Jesus, run to your religion. Seek matters of the Spirit.
Now also consider a pre tribulation rapturist POV, IF the abomination of desolation is observable by a believer, at what point are we in the 'timeline'?
Past the 1290 days of Daniel 12.
Obvious to me too. Last weekend I wrote a long note on it on another forum like this. A wall of text with pictures. A chronology of the Stern Faced King from Daniel 11, vs 31, to now. They removed my post after about 4 hours. I agree it can be spooky to hear a guy saying it's happening now, he is dividing the land for a profit, for a price.

I agree when you say: "Satan's power has been stretched full on over the earth and his government is in power. And Christians are observing the abomination of desolation." When it is standing where it ought not to be.

If they, we, are still on earth, I doubt it's for too much longer. I wouldn't be worried about that kitchen and bath renovation. Or the steel tile roof with the 75 year warrantee.

25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

v28-29. Jesus teaches the resurrection of the wicked and the good, unjust and just happen at the same time. No 1000 year separation of time.

Your argument is with Christ.

Even the angels who came for Lot, told him to flee to the mountains. So, I don't think we want to fully spiritualize it, even though you can.
That part of Matthew 24 is for those in Judea. Judea is still there today, so IMO, it can be applied to then and now.

Gen 19

15 When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.” 16 And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that [b]he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be [c]destroyed.”

I agree it was literal back in the days of Lot. That was just a local prophecy, to do with Lots's family fleeing from the wrath about to fall on the Sodomites.

And it was also literal in Luke 21 when Jerusalem was surrounded by armies. That was also a local prophecy to do with the Old Time Jews. Those were the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that was written in Moses' day.

But at the end of the world, these Judean Hills probably aren't big enough to hide all the people needing to flee there.

Just need a chopper with thermal imaging at night. Like 153 fish in a barrel.

Matthew 24's Abomination is different. Matthew 24 is not a local prophecy, it meets the criteria for an Apocalyptic prophecy, complete with a prophetic time period, the 1290 days spoken of by the Prophet Daniel. The 1290 days are the litmus test. First find them, then the rest of it, including the "holy place", the place where it ought not to be standing, can be reverse engineered back to the birth of the baby male Child, the One who Rules.

I never want to spiritualize the Word away. I always go to the literal meaning first. The NT has transferred a bunch of the terminology around. Like not everyone who calls themselves a Jew, is a Jew. We are Abraham's seed now. Like the guy with the login name Spiritual Israelite. The Israel of God.

Because I read Matthew 24:16 as a global event having an impact on the majority of the world, I would consider more of a symbolic meaning in the text. I remember hearing Dave Pack in a video demanding a literal interpretation. He said the place of safety was Petra in Jordan. He said Christians needed to physically travel there to hide from the Antichrist. Some wealthy individuals were said to be already be hiding supplies there. Lol.

There are parallels though. When I think about that wrath about to fall on the Sodomites. Yikes. Remember Lots wife. There's no looking back. One will be taken to destruction, one will be left. At the coming of the Son of Man.

Jesus said whoever seeks to save their lives will lose their lives. And that He would keep us from, or during, (EK), the hour of trial that would come upon the whole world.

And to deliver us from the Evil One.

I believe Matthew 24 has both a past fulfillment and a future fulfillment, not yet happened.
I am not a preterist. Preterists believe everything has already happened, including Revelation.

In an extreme sense, it has, as the future is as certain to God as the past as to what will happen, as to what has been determined beforehand even from the foundation of the world.
But to us, it has not yet happened. And God deals with us in our time on earth.

Acts 15:18
“Known to God from eternity are all His works.

Your salvation is the work of God.

Unless you haven't noticed, both Luke 17 and Revelation 18, for example, involve fleeing. Do you take the fleeing in those chapters in the literal sense as well?

Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Clearly, verse 31 involves fleeing.

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Clearly, verse 4 involves fleeing. The question is, pertaining to both of these examples I brought up, fleeing in what sense?

Mark 13:15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

Compare this with the following in Luke 17.

Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

In light of Luke 17:28-32, it might not be unreasonable to understand Mark 13:15-16 like such, thus interpreting Scripture with Scripture. Something some in this thread should try doing, interpreting Scripture with Scripture here.

And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment. Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

Would it be wrong to maybe understand Mark 13:15-16 like that in light of Luke 17:28-33? One thing is for certain, no way in a million years is Luke 17:28-32 involving 70 AD.

Well, when you see the abomination of desolation, get as far away as you can go. And that is also proof there is no pre-trib rapture.
That phrase is not in Luke 17 or Luke 21

At least we agree there is no pretrib rapture. Except we should know that Luke 17 is connected with abominations the fact Jesus used the days of Lot as an example, and that it was because of abominations taking place at the time being why God had to destroy that place.

Except I'm not taking these things in the literal sense in Matthew 24:15-20. Therefore, literal mountains is a moot point. Literal mountains only make sense per that context if the first century leading up to 70 AD is what is in view in those verses. Some argue that the first century leading up to 70 AD is what is in view in those verses. I tend to disagree for various reasons, thus what I have been arguing throughout thus far.

For one thing, I don't see it making sense that the holy place meant in Matthew 24:15 is meaning the 2nd temple when Christ's death and resurrection made it no longer the holy place. But not some 40 years later, meaning that it was still the holy place until it was destroyed. That is a blatant contradiction that an unholy place can be a holy place at the same time. Clearly, it became an unholy place once Christ died and rose, the fact they continued sacrificing animals. That equals an unholy place, not a holy place.

And Jesus said the abomination of desolation is involving a holy place, not an unholy place. Which then would mean that the holy place then becomes an unholy place. But it has to first occur in the holy place. There was no holy place for it to occur in, in the first century. The 2nd temple was already an unholy place once Jesus died and rose, and that Jesus was applying the AOD to the future involving a holy place, not an unholy place. But let's just ignore all of that since some can't see Matthew 24:15-20 meaning anything but literal. Therefore, in their minds, the first century leading up to 70 AD is what is in view in those verses, case closed.
