John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Israel was only to believe in the name of Jesus. Israel was to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. There is nothing at this time of the redemption by the cross. The gospel for our salvation is not found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

These verses are saying that salvation is only in the name of Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:16 is one of the most popular of verses for evangelism and while true and has bearing on us, it is not the verse we should be using exclusively, as there is nothing in this verse of the cross. Notice that in verse 18 it is by not believing in the name of the only begotten Son of God that one is condemned.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Even after the resurrection of Jesus, the name of Jesus was still being preached for the remission of sins and salvation.

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Israel will receive eternal life by believing on the name of Jesus.

2 Thessalonians 1:12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Today it is true that we glorify and believe in the name of Jesus, but we also trust in him and his complete redemption by the cross for our eternal life (Ephesians 2:16 Colossians 1:20 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

Let me say that all scripture is for our learning and doctrine, but we are to rightly divide scripture as to what we are to obey.

Jesus and His teachings is in the Gospels... and He is our Salvation.

Jesus said in the Gospels if a man is not born again he cannot enter in to God's Kingdom... was He lying?

Too bad to see you are on the wrong track, again! clueless-doh.gif

Jesus is our salvation
Jesus earthly ministry was to offer the earthly Davidic kingdom to Israel...we are not Israel
Israel rejected Christ and the kingdom
Jesus made Paul an apostle to form the Body of Christ to reconcile the heavenly places

Jesus was speaking to Israel when He said to be born again
Israel was called his firstborn that was their being born the first time
Israel had to believe on Christ to be born again
We are justified unto eternal life by believing Paul's gospel

Your post reminds me of this:

[39] You search the scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness to me;
[40] yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. John 5:39-40 RSV

....

The above is pretty much BLASPHEMY against GOD and His Word.

Christ's Salvation IS... written of in The Four Gospel Books.

The FALSE doctrines where Doug is coming from is men's theories of Hyper-Dispensationalism. I have WARNED about those fake doctrines of men, and Darby who first preached the false Pre-trib Rapture in 1830's Great Britain isn't excluded either, because he pushed a salvation-separateness between Jesus' offer to save Jews vs. salvation to the Church, which of course that false idea is NOWHERE written in God's Word. That is why Hyper-Dispensationalism has the FALSE 'double gospel' theory, one for the Jews and another one for the Church.

I mean, just what type of idiot would teach that remission of sins by the PROOF of Christ's death and resurrection is not part of The Four Gospel Books!!! The main reason why they are called The Four Gospels is because they are PROOF by WITNESSES of Christ's death and resurrection for the remission of sins through His Blood shed upon His cross!

Matt 26:26-28
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is My body."
27 And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink ye all of it;
28
For this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
KJV

So what now, Hyper-Dispensationalists want us to think that Christ's offer of the bread and the cup is not for the Christian Church?? Do you realize how stupid that idea is?? Who could come up with such a stupid false idea other than an unbelieving Jew who rejects Lord Jesus Christ? A true Christian should easily... know there's one of Satan's host tampering with Christian doctrine by denial of The Gospel written in The Four Gospel Books!

Luke 24:46-48
46 And said unto them, "Thus it is written, and
thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
KJV

What does that "beginning at Jerusalem" mean? It means the SAME GOSPEL of Jesus Christ later preached to the Gentiles was the SAME Gospel preached first at Jerusalem. The majority of unbelieving Jews rejected The Gospel, and thus The Gospel went to the Gentiles, and that's the SAME Gospel. That is why there exists so many NON-STUPID Christian Churches which RECOGNIZE The Four Gospel Books as WITNESSES of Christ's Blood shed upon His cross for the remission of sins of those who believe!

Mark 14:24
24 And He said unto them,
This is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
KJV

Why would Jesus say His Blood was shed for "many"? It means only for those who BELIEVE!

Luke 22:19-20
19 And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying,
"This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me."
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you."
KJV

So... do those Hper-Dispensationalist type beth-aven false churches even hold Communion anymore? Jesus told His to do it in remembrance of Him. Does your Church do it, and if not, why not? And don't be fooled, because Apostle Paul taught the Church to hold Communion, but in a worthily manner.

Who would want the Christian to NOT... hold Holy Communion with Lord Jesus Christ? The devil and his servants, of course!

Matt 20:28
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister,
and to give His life a ransom for many.
KJV

Doug definitely belongs on my IGNORE LIST.

Of course the shed blood of Christ is found in the four gospels but the twelve did not preach that in the four gospels ...as late as acts they still preached his name and water baptism for remission of sins

[Act 2:38 KJV] 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

[Jhn 1:12 KJV] 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
[Jhn 2:23 KJV] 23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast [day], many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
[Jhn 3:18 KJV] 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
[Jhn 20:31 KJV] 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
[Act 2:21 KJV] 21 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
[Act 3:16 KJV] 16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
[Act 4:12 KJV] 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

[Heb 9:15 KJV] 15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Hebrews says Christ died for the transgressions of Israel under the first testament....these are the many

[1Ti 2:6 KJV] 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

This verse does not say He gave himself only for those who believe but rather for all

I really do appreciate your concern....please read my thread posted to you a moment ago.....even though we disagree I would still continue our discourse....but understand we may not share our beliefs but can discuss them
