Of course, both sides need to know Jesus who taught us to love our neighbor as ourselves. That's the only answer.
Listening to these interviews, you can understand the problem. The Israelis want peace, willing to compromise. The Palestinians...no desire for peace or compromise with Israel, and they think they are entitled to all of the land.
Two different mindsets about peace...
The title of your thread stopped me from scrolling through all the new post. It stands out because to me it could apply to way more than what is going on over there. Even here —in the mind—-there are two battling “warring” mindsets about peace. Consider the double minded man who is unstable in all his ways…he also has two mindsets about peace. For example where the word says to warn those who are rich in this world and not rich (making peace) toward God. I’ve experienced two different mindsets surrounding me as counsel given from others and also my own dueling two different mindsets within my own
thoughts. Differing mindsets coming in the form of counsel, an example would be when I first found out I had MS and went to church to seek answers as to why. And truthfully seeking for God “to fix me”. The counsel was my faith was lacking and the reason I was sick with a disease like MS, was because my faith lacked where if I had real faith I would not have MS. So two different mindsets: one saying there is no peace because obviously, I’m still sick. Or judging peace given with how blessed one is not only with “given increase” of great health, but also by how much money and things God has given increase to in one’s life. At the same time there’s the mindset of 2 Corinthians By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report:
as deceivers, and yet true; [9]
As unknown, and yet well known;
as dying, and, behold, we live;
as chastened, and not killed; [10]
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing;
as poor, yet making many rich;
as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
^yes, I see good news in the above, but I also see what is visible doesn’t define what is unseen(not yet seen).
Also what you pointed out concerning Palestinians and Israelis and “
the Land”…
Also there are two different mindsets on “the Promised Land” and end times. Different mindsets even on where
the promised land is located. Jesus Christ spoke on those whose mindset is to keep you out of the Promised Land. But then Paul whose mindset was polar opposite from Saul’s mindset: did not desire to keep others out but wanted to ”intreat” even saying to those who called him a reprobate… “I will be weak, that you be made strong. This We hope for, even you being made complete in Him.”
Sorry for the long post. You have helped me to reflect and have hope and I’ll think of the title of your post for most of the day. Today, I’m switching from the antidepressant I was on to another one(this will be the third switch now), which scares me. Since yet again the new one comes with a whole new set of side effects. Your title will give me strength because I do think there is a lot in whether the mindset is to exclude others, or the mindset to include others. I find Hope in the nature of God to not exclude but as Paul (Christ speaking in him) said, “I will be weak so that you be made strong” …it reminds me of God whom is wonderfully gracious to share.
I didn’t mean to distract from your title. But only meant how we view what is going on over there, maybe also we need to look at our own mindset on peace?
